We are offering our 1979 Chevy K30 (1-Ton) pickup for auction. This truck was purchased new from Meyer's Chevrolet in New Era Michigan and has been in service with our department until just a few weeks ago when it's replacement arrived. Truck runs and drives great and has been professionally maintained it's entire life. Service records are available at the department. Condition: There are a few dents and dings in the body panels which have occurred over the years of use. None are very large or noticeable. All can be easily fixed. The motor runs strong. There are no mechanical issues preventing operability of the truck. It was still in service and running fire calls just a few weeks ago. Features: Truck includes custom made front winch bumper with grille guard and rear bumper with tow hooks. Both were made locally by a professional welder and are very heavy duty. The Warn Winch is also included in this auction and has seen very little use since it was installed when the truck was new. It works flawlessly.History: The Hart Area Fire Department is the original owner of this 1979 truck. It was purchases new from Meyer's Chevrolet in New Era, Michigan. Originally Charcoal Grey in color the truck was repainted to its current color and equipped with a slid in skid unit for fighting wildfire. The truck has been cared for over the years and never abused. Despite the heavy duty front bumper we have always taken care to not carelessly drive the vehicle off-road.
