Vehicle Detail
1986 modified 944 turbo with 3.0 liter turbo engine. This is a very unique car with a 3.0L turbo engine built similarly to the factory 968 turbo engines with factory Porsche parts. Metallic grey with maroon interior with power leather seats. It is fitted with the extended steering hub for more leg room. Wheels are Cup II 17x7 front 17x9 rear. This is a two owner Car and has always been in Colorado , I have owned this car for the last 15 years and over that time have modified it to make it more powerful and fun to drive.Drive train:Engine replaced with rebuilt engine using factory parts as listed. 3.0L S2 block, forged 968 pistons machined for 8.5 to 1 compression, 3.0L S2 crank, forged rods. All engine seals and gaskets replaced, Main Rod and conterballance shaft bearings replaced. Rebuilt 2.7L head with new guides, turbo exhaust valves, springs and retainers high performance 3 angle valve job. All belts, rollers and water pump, mounts replaced. Ventury delete performed. Radiator and hoses and heater valve replaced. Intercooler upgraded to Lindsey racing stage II. Turbo upgraded to Garrett TO4E hybrid with KKK style hot side. Upgraded 55lb injectors with MAF conversion, Split Second programmable fueling unit, upgraded chip, high flow fuel pump. Turbo back 3” Fabspeed stainless exhaust with cat bypass . Stock intake ported to match larger ports in 2.7L head. Engine tuned using wide band O2 to a conservative mixture under boost, easily passed Colorado dyno emissions test with Cat installed (currently running cat bypass). The clutch disk and pressure plate were replaced with a high performance unit from KEP and the torque tube was rebuilt with new bearings. Greddy boost controller (running 14lbs of boost) with modified wastegate. Stock transmission was replaced with one from a 944 S2 which has a stronger input shaft, limited slip and shorter ring and pinion providing quicker acceleration in each gear. Suspension and brakes were upgraded when engine was rebuilt: Front suspension changed to later (87 up) offset components, Front 87+ control arms with rebuilt ball joints. Front brakes upgraded to Turbo S size calipers with new larger rotors.Koni yellow shocks with, Eibach 250lb lowering springs, larger sway bar.Rear koni yellow shocks with 28mm torsion bars and larger sway bar, rear rotors replaced with cross drilledThe interior is in good condition with the exception of the seat bottoms (see pics). Cold AC, upgraded to R134, tinted windows, vented header panel, sunroof works, hatch in good condition with no delamination. Cruise control doesn’t work (control module-common problem). The paint is fair, pealing clear coat on roof and stone chips on front and hood, being a 30 years old has some dents and dings. The worst is a small dent in the rear just under the turbo badging. One of the rear bumper side pieces is torn (Good replacement included). There is a small amount of damage on very front of right front fender and bumper cover. The front under bumper rubber (bat wing) is not currently attached but two come with the car. Like many of these cars the dash is cracked. The engine was built in 2009. Since then I have driven the car 10-15K miles. My interests have turned to other projects and it’s time to sell this car. If you have any questions or would like to discuss more message me. I can send you my phone number if you would like to talk in more detail.Car is listed for sale in other locations and I may end the auction at any time
