This car has been very well maintained by me, an ex-mechanic, and the only reason for selling is the fact that we now need a vehicle with an automatic transmission. Just had a full tune up and a new front brake job. Last year the front end was rebuilt with new ball joints control arms tie rod ends, sway bar links and new wheel bearings were installed. Tires are about one year old. Everything works as it should. There are no squeaks, rattles, vibrations, engine lights, or dents. It tracks down the road strait as an arrow. It uses no oil in between 5000 mile oil changes. It’s never been in an accident and all the miles are all easy no traffic highway miles on my daily commute up Rt 287 north to Mahwah NJ. The A/C blows ice cold and the heater is toasty warm for winter months. Ford made several “improvements” to the Ford Escape in 2005. The engine was enlarged to 2.3 liters output was increased by 25 HP, yet it got better fuel economy. The Duratec motor uses a timing chain so no expensive belt changes are required. The headlight housings were improved for better night time performance, and the interior got improved instrumentation and a folding 60/40 rear seat and “smart” dual stage air bags as well as improved sound insulation. You will not find a better running car for less here on all of EBay. One can get in and drive to California tomorrow in air conditioned comfort while getting 28+ MPG. $100.00 deposit due via pay pal within 48 hours. The remainder due in cash only within two weeks.
