Super Clean Idaho One-Owner! 1960 Imperial Custom 4-Door Southhampton Hardtop VIN: 9104115933 #15933 of 16829 built that year. Light Blue - 75,000 miles - 413 V8 motor runs sweet Automatic (Pushbutton) Transmission - P/S - P/B - no A/C Electric windows including front wings - Flight Sweep deck lid Electric front seat, antenna, door locks, rear defroster Engine Tuned and Serviced - Transmission serviced New Shocks; Driveshaft and U-Joints Serviced New Battery, Plugs, Wires. Refurbished original AM radio - with "Search Tuning" New Dual Exhaust System - Front end aligned and tight Car fully Serviced and Road Ready! This noble survivor sat mostly unused since the mid 90's when the original owner passed away. It resided in a climate controlled garage and only rec'd occasional usage when family members visited the now vacation home. The motor runs strong, no miss, no smoke. Trans shifts clean and crisp Mechanically the car is a very solid and stately ride. Glides down the road and over railroad tracks. No knocks or rattles going down the road. Brakes are solid. Page after page of documentation from oil-changes, tune-ups, brake jobs, detailing, all mostly done locally at the dealer. Many owner-handwritten notes reveal the maximum love and care this car enjoyed. The condition of the car's finish is consistant with original paint. A few areas show where the paint has worn thinner than in other areas. According to the exhaustive documentation supplied with the vehicle, there was a minor repaint of door panels in 1986. No rust to be found. Wheel trim moldings on passenger side are scuffed. A very small area needs attention on the lower RH side near front. A couple of rear-bumper spots (identical position on L&R) need attention but are not festering. Is this car perfect in every way? Nope, but I'd give it a 8.5 or even 9 on a scale of 10. Here's a few things I've noticed about it while I've had it: Wipers work intermittantly. (Not a big deal for me, this car never saw rain during my watch!) Car wanders slightly on crowned roads: Car has been to the alignment shop, front end is certified tight. Apparently wandering is normal for belted tires of this era. Radial tires, although not period correct, should correct this. Slight oil leak at back of motor: Believe to be rear main seal. Hardly worth pulling engine to cure a few drops.... Some have stated the seats are not original: I find no documentation showing seats being recovered. I do believe the fancier "Crown" version may well have had different coverings. Speaking of seats: The powered front seat doesn't move, but it's motor runs. I've been told that there's a spacer that fails between the motor and the gear movement. I have a replacement spacer, but the seat has to be removed to install. Also there is a loose wire inside that is poking the side of the seat. Removing the front seat will allow curing for both items. Search-Tuning floor button occasionally sticks. There are 2 buttons on the floor, one for high-beams, the other to activate the radio's search-tuning feature. Turning the radio off/on will stop endless searching. A new button will certiainly cure it. Runs BEST on Premium fuel: The engine will develop pinging if you don't use premium. Also recommend a lead additive. I've purchased several gasket sets for intake manifold, valve covers, etc. in anticipation of the car needing them. But it runs so well I've decided to leave it alone. Gaskets, replacement hood pad, stickers and emblems, extra window felts, etc etc are included in the trunk. In summation: All these older cars need love and care. If you are allergic to maintenance or light repairs, this may not be the car for you. But....if you can give it love and attention...it will reward you every time you take it out! About Me: I'm a 60+ retired mechanic who loves to mechanically restore vehicles back to their original glory. I am NOT a dealer, just a life-long mechanic with a love for cars. You will be impressed by how clean this car is, and how well it runs. Clean Idaho Title, you will be the second owner. Why buy from me? Well first, look at my feedback. An Ebay'er over 15 years, I've bought and sold a lot of vehicles here. Here's just a few of my vehicle-sale feedback comments: "completely honest and straight forward guy..WHAT YOU SEE IS WHAT YOU GET" Buyer: Member id: pammjo 2013 Chevy Avalanche "I just wanted to let you know how much we're enjoying the Mazda. It's running great and we're having the best start to autumn in ages. I haven't had the top up since it arrived." Member id: 143196720 1997 Mercury Mystique So, there you have it. I'm not going to waste your time or insult your intelligence with a bunch of "dealership speak", phony unsubstantiated claims, or other blather. I will say that this is absolutely the nicest, most original and unmolested example of an early 60's car that I'll ever have the honor and pleasure of 'care-taking'. Bottom Line: This car turns heads at the many car shows I've taken her too. You mostly see '57 Chevs, Vettes, Mustangs, Hot Rods, etc at most car shows, so when this beauty shows up, heads turn! TERMS: Must be paid in full before leaving. Cash or Bank Wire gives immediate posession; All checks welcome, but please allow 10 business days to clear. I will assist with loading car for transporter. All original documentation and title will be overnighted. Want more pics? Want more info? The notebook was shared during showing of the car so folks could witness the provenance and history. I've never seen a vehicle with more documented history and detail....have you?
