2007 marked the return of the GT500 name after a 37 year hiatus. Ford realized the potential of the supercharged 5.4L found in the Ford GT, and used it to breathe new life into the S-197s, pumping up the power output to 500 horsepower and 480 torque. Ford's Special Vehicle Team had originally planned for the car to be the direct successor to the '03/'04 Terminator Cobras, however, Ford reignited their relationship with Carroll Shelby, leading SVT to build the car in collaboration with Shelby. After the initial press releases and auto shows, the car was instantly made famous in I Am Legend, a post-apocalyptic movie starring Will Smith, when it was thrown around in the deserted streets of New York City by Smith. The car is impeccable inside and out. It has been garaged all its life and kept in showroom condition. The only modifications done to the car include: a Steeda CAI and tune, 3.73 rear end gear & an aluminum battery tray with Optima battery. ALL FACTORY PARTS come with the car, including a smaller pulley that has not been installed. The GT500 is a street beast and is an absolute blast to drive; turns heads anywhere you go.
