High bidder takes it!Up for auction with no reserve is my 1984 Porsche 944 in Ruby Red Metallic, which was a special order color, and tan leather interior. I am in the process of buying a 996 and I don't have space for 2 cars in my garage. This car spent most it's life with the same two adult owners. -New timing belt, new rear axle, new tires, new battery. About $3000 in parts and labor, all within the last 200 miles. Flowmaster exhaust. Current NY inspection. I had a Porsche mechanic go over it and he said it's a good one and has a lot of life left. I would drive it across the country without hesitation. The transmission works perfect and the clutch is like new. The bakes are mint and even the parking brake works like new. I saw a few new brake lines under the car. The underside of this car is exceptionally clean, see the pics. Someone spent a lot on that Flowmaster exhaust, original unused spare and jack, original owners manual. The seats are in very good condition. Has the standard dash crack but there is a dash cover on it. Momo steering wheel, 16 inch 928 wheels New Hankook tires with less than 50 miles on them. I have only put 144 miles on the car since I bought it. Moonroof goes up and down manually but needs a new switch. Also the rear wiper works but needs a new switch or it won't shut off. A/C works but needs charge. Power steering pump drips when you turn the wheels hard but was very common and I have the gasket kit to fit it. Right rear wheel will need a new bearing. My Porsche mechanic said it's not dire but will need it at some point, about $100 in parts and the DIY video is on youtube, I don't have time to do it myself. The body is good for it's age, I would say better than most. Most of the car was repainted at some point. Most noticeable is a dent behind the front passenger wheel (see 12th pic). Has a few little things here and there but nothing major. Also comes with an all season cover and whatever parts I have for it. I'll be happy to help with referring a few good shipping companies. Payment: If you want to make the full payment with a credit card, I'm fine with that, but I will ask you add 4% for the Paypal fee. Deposit of $500 is due immediately and the remainder is due within 3 business days. Item Photos On Aug-05-16 at 07:29:27 PDT, seller added the following information: Hello everyone, I have received many questions about the car so I will now post answers to them for everyone: Does the car have service records? The only records I have are of the work I did while owning the car, tires, alignment battery etc.Do the wipers function? Both windows function?Yes, the wipers work and both windows go up and down. The passenger window goes up with both switches however sometime the drives side switch for the passenger window is temperamental. The windshield and headlight washers do not work, however the likely cause is the wiper arm on the steering wheel and I have a brand new OEM stalk included. I've owned four 80's Porsches and these were quit common problems, however the great thing about Porsche is just about everything can be fixed and there are endless forums to get great advice! How bad is the power steering drip? Does the car drip oil?The power steering pump only drips when you turn the wheel hard, so only when the pump is under full load. Again, this was such a common problem that Porsche forums actually sell the replacement gasket kit to fix it, which I have and will include as well. I have not seen any oil drips and the level stays constant. Can you deliver the car to NJ? Also would you write the receipt for a lower amount?I'll be glad to leave the car parked in my driveway a couple weeks while you setup shipping. If you place an ad on uShip, you will get immediate quotes that are insanely high. I know this because I have shipped and had shipped many cars on ebay. If you hold out for a week you can usually get a much better deal by some guy who needs to fill a spot on his truck. And yes, I will leave the receipt blank and you can fill in whatever amount you like. I'm not a dealer so what do I care?I'm looking for a reliable car. Is this good in the snow? (I'm sorry Brian from PA, but I actually lol'd at this)With all do respect, are you kidding me? Snow? I very much doubt it and this car has never seen snow so it would be a shame. As for reliability, it's a 32 year old German sports car. Don't call me in 3 months and whine about the alternator not working. I invite anyone to come look and drive it first. So that covers a lot of the questions, I can answer anything else you want but I have to say in conclusion, you have to expect a 32 year old German sports car. Yes this one is very nice and fun to drive but they all develop problems from time to time. I've been in the old Porsche game a long time and it is what it is. My father had a 1972 Porsche Targa S when I was 9 and I fell in love. Since then between the two of us have had 12 Porsches. It's a sickness that is incurable. Porsche fever.
