Vehicle Detail
Clear Florida title shown as a 1959 car due to it having the MKI series 'bugeye' bonnet from the 1959 car with the original serial number plate. It has the iconic Bugeye Sprite appearance with the upgrades of a MKII car, (larger engine, front disk brakes, boot, wire wheels, seats) while retaining the classic true 'roadster' appeal of having side curtains, a spartan interior, no outside door handles, front lift bonnet, etc. Including the initial restoration and up until now, a lot of work has been done to the car like a complete new brake system, new battery, interior, electric fuel pump, ignition, all filters, gaskets and more. Excellent top and ok side curtains. The tonneau cover is faded but fully usable with no tears and a good zipper. Two chips on the windscreen that look like they came from a BB gun? The tach and speedometer are erratic, but for myself not a needed fix. All the other gauges work fine. A solid car with no rust issues. I have had the car on a lift and did not see any evidence of any previous rust repairs. Actually an amazing car for being 50+ years old. I purchased the car from a person who had it for about 12 years, retired to Florida and due to serious illness moved back home to be near his family. He said likely he put less than 1000 total miles on it since he owned it. I did get the impression it was purchased it from the person that did a full mechanical and cosmetic restoration and has always been garaged since. Runs cool, no tailpipe smoke, excellent oil pressure and did not use any oil during the 500 + miles I put on it since driving it from The Villages in central Florida to Panama City. Owners manual and some extra filters. Please call, text or email through eBay if you have any questions. 850 276-6243. A solid and fun car to drive. I personally would not hesitate driving this car to its new home. This is a relisting with no reserve that is seriously worth more than my designated opening bid. Please watch the YouTube video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t-BAIOjRriE On Aug-03-16 at 06:31:27 PDT, seller added the following information: This is not a 'composite' car put together from pieces of different series cars. It is a MKII complete car with an original factory MKI 'bugeye' bonnet. (No structural modifications were required to do this.) Please watch my video and get back to me if you have any questions.
