Up for bid is a 1965 Mustang Fastback that needs a complete restoration, or use it to turn a nice coupe into a fastback. I have been watching this car sit in a guys driveway for years and he finally decided that he's not going to fix it and sold it to me. He told me that he bought in 1999 and wrecked it the same year, and its been sitting in his driveway every since. It is a 289 4 speed with disc brakes and power steering, I have looked up the door tag info and the car has changed colors inside and out since 1965. The trans code is stamped wrong on the tag as it list the trans as a G, there is no such listing as G for trans. Anyhow the car needs front frame rails, as the car has been hit hard on the passenger side which buckled everything up front. It will probably need both shock towers and fender aprons replaced in front and behind the shock towers. Also floor pans, doors, fenders and everything that an old Mustang needs, that has been sitting in the weather for 16 years. The motor still spins over, but I did not try to start it since the passenger side exhaust manifold is busted in half, and the trans still shifts freely. Don't really know anything else about the car, and I have tried to describe it as accurately as possible. Its definitely not a project for someone who has not restored a car before, as it is a basket case. Winning bidder is responsible for pick up and/or all shipping arrangements. Mainly looking for a block and set of heads. The car is a 64 1/2 and I'm not worried about date codes.On Jun-30-16 at 13:40:40 PDT, seller added the following information: I have had several people inquire about the Vin # on the apron of the car. I bought some stripper and a wire brush and cleaned it real good, and the Vin is partially readable but it DOES NOT appear to match the title and door tag. If I'm reading it correctly it is a C code. Hopefully this has not caused a problem for anyone, as the car will be a parts car. Sorry
