Vehicle Detail
Very nice mostly original low original mileage Suzuki T500. I bought this bike 4 years ago, it had been sitting in a basement in the midwest and had 1,157 original miles on it. The original redline tires (the dried out shreds) were still on it. I had the same bike brand new and looked for a long time to find a nice one. Prior to my buying it the owner had the tank repainted and put new IRC Grand High Speed GS tires on it (vintage look tread pattern). I was told everything else except the battery, chain and cables were original however I cannot guarantee that. I had a lot of work done, all of it professionally. All parts used were genuine Suzuki. Unfortunately when we moved last year it appears that I misfiled all the receipts and misplaced the original tools/bag. I had well over $7,000 in receipts from Eastside Perfomance in Mesa, AZ, still looking for those receipts and hope to find them. Entire bike was checked by mechanic. Engine was taken down, cylinders showed almost no wear or scuffs consistent with stated mileage. Crank seals were replaced, and at suggestion of mechanic since engine was apart new +20 rings installed. Carbs were rebuilt an rejetted, new carbs to air cleaner boot, new air cleaner. All electrics were gone through. Gas tank was cleaned, etched and sealed, new petcock. Wheels were checked to make sure spokes were tight and true. Recent new battery. In the spring of 2014 the bike won Best Japanese in Show at the 30th annual AZ state classic and vintage motorcycle show. Judges were impressed by the condition plus the overall degree of originality - the Suzuki S logo mirrors, all the correct nuts and screws, the lack of fading on the instrument faces, correct gray color cables, correct/original grips and pegs, etc. Bike starts on 1st or 2nd kick for me every time no matter how long it has sat (provided battery is well charged). This is a very nice bike but it is not a trailer queen or perfect bike, it is a 45 year old bike with mostly original parts and finish. I really do not ride the bike except to keep it in good running condition and now I have some health conditions that are making even that difficult. You can buy it for about 1/3 of total I have into it.
