This can be folded down (see video for demonstration), but when up it seals off the cargo area to keep it quiet and comfortable in the car. The back can be open even in rain, cold weather, or hot weather and passengers can be totally closed in with heat, AC, etc. The rear cargo area when the midgate is closed can be washed out with a hose, it's all hard plastic and has drainage in the floor! This vehicle has high mileage (190K), but runs and drives great! Looks good, it is fairly quiet and very comfortable, and a fantastic winter vehicle for bad weather.
