1971 VW Bus / Vanagon Deluxe - Completely Restored, Lowered, and Ready for Summer This is a No Reserve Auction. The highest bidder gets an awesome bus. Super fun to drive and looks great. Early bay window buses are rising in value and this one should appreciate nicely. I purchased this bus from a mechanic in Saskatoon. It ran well but needed extensive rust repair, which has just been completed. This is the most sought after model year of the bay window bus. It has the low light front nose, the upright engine, and also has front disk brakes. The specs include: - 1600 cc upright engine - 4 speed transmission - All lights and signal lights working - Brand new Hankook Optimo 185R14 tires - Brand new front disc brakes, including all new callipers, pads and rotors - Brand new carburetor, points, fuel pump, heater boxes and muffler - All deluxe chrome and brand new VW front emblem - All glass (there is a crack in the lower middle of front windshield) The work that has gone into this bus has been extensive. It has new metal repair panels welded in place, seam sealed, a coat of POR15, and recent coat of beryl green over the original white. The rust repair includes: - New inner and outer lower nose - Jacking points and all lower cross members replaced with new metal - New metal in front cargo floor and both left and right steps replaced - All lower exterior metal replaced, including the sliding door track, proper B pillars, and sealed with POR 15 - New sliding door skin - New beryl green paint The interior is in great shape. Headliner is excellent, the back seats are perfect. It has the original rubber floor mats (front and back); seats 7 and includes 7 seat belts; working interior lights; slight tear on driver's seat; all original vinyl panels. The sliding door works great and the doors all lock with the same key (the passenger door lock is a bit sticky). This bus is currently in Calgary, Alberta, Canada but registered in Saskatchewan. It can be viewed in Calgary. I had originally planned to keep the bus, but recently purchased a 72 westy and do not have room for both.
