Vintage Motorcars is proud to present this 1939 Chevrolet Master Deluxe Business Coupe Street Rod.
This is a perfect example of how to build a street rod in my opinion. Take an extremely cool pre-war coupe, and build it up to modern standards while still retaining an original vibe to the exterior.
This particular Street Rod is an all-steel body that spent the majority of its life in the South. This car is extremely straight and the smooth running boards look awesome. The car is featured in a Champagne Frost Pearl exterior paint, and was professionally applied in 2015. The paint is extremely high quality, and shines beautifully. There aren’t many miles on the car since the paint was applied, so there are no rock chips, scratches, dings or dents in the steel exterior. The grill has been replaced with a custom billet grill that looks awesome! All the trim on the exterior of the car has either been replaced or refurbished. There is no pitting, dents or discoloration on any of the exterior trim pieces.
The interior is completely finished in soft beige leather from front to back. The bucket seats are extremely comfortable for long trips, and provide nice side and lumbar support. The car features a GM tilt column for added comfort, and of course… under dash A/C and heat. When you are striving for comfort; why stop there? So, power windows were installed, and an AM/FM/CD/MP3 player for some cruisin’ tunes! Also recently added were electric wipers, a full panel of white-faced gauges and all new tinted glass throughout. That same leather upholstery continues through to the fully-finished trunk with a hidden storage compartment for all your car-show gear!
The power plant for this super-cool Street Rod is (of course) a GM Crate 350 rated at about 290 HP. The engine is dressed nicely in chrome and billet aluminum, and really shows nicely! The motor features such items as a small Lunati Camshaft, Edelbrock Intake and a Quickfuel Carburetor. Power transfers through a completely rebuilt TH350 automatic transmission with an 1800 rpm TCI converter. The rear end is a 10 bolt out of a Nova with 3:08 gears for great cruising rpm’s.
This classic Chevy Rod has a Mustang II front end with power disc brakes, and a pair of great sounding Flowmaster mufflers for that wonderful rumble we all love!
All this classic steel sitting on a set of 15” American Racing Torque Thrust Chrome Wheels and radial tires that set the vibe of this Street Rod perfectly!
I also have a set of 1939 front & rear chrome bumpers if anyone wanted to install them themselves. They are in great shape, but would need to be re-chromed.
This is a very nicely done car with all the modern amenities. Nice enough to take to shows and cruise nights, but not so perfect that you are afraid to drive it! Just the way it should be!
The title is listed at "Rebuilt", but that is not uncommon for old street rods. Considering this car has been completely rebuilt from when it was new.
