Get Ready for Summer!! 2004 Volvo C70 Convertible 2.4L 5-cylinder Turbo DOHC Engine Auto Transmission New Battery Power top and windows 25 mpg HWY / 16 mpg City Clear Title This car has not been MD State Inspected, so it can only be sold to a non-Maryland resident. Please read the description fully and ensure that you can meet the obligations of this auction before bidding. As is stated above, this is a NO RESERVE auction for a 2004 Volvo C70 convertible, the only non-“mom car” that Volvo has made since the P1800. This is the perfect convertible for summer, with a powerful engine that gets decent gas mileage, power top that folds away neatly at the press of a button, all power options and leather seats, and it looks great. This car does need some TLC, but would make a great cruiser for someone for summer and year-round. This car was owned by a faculty member at a local, prestigious, private school, and appears to have been cared for. The 2.4L turbo DOHC 5-cylinder engine has a surprising amount of power that feels evenly distributed across the RPM range, but it can still get 25mpg HWY. It runs great and does not smoke, overheat or have blow-by. Just installed a new battery, so it starts up every time with no trouble. A service sticker under the hood says that the cam belt was changed at 120k miles in November 2012. The automatic transmission shifts through all of its gears normally. This car is a highway cruiser, but feels just as good on suburban or city streets. The brakes feel strong. The suspension feels good, but when you go over bumps it feels like it may be time for new shocks or bushings in the front end. The sleek exterior of this car is great to look at, and overall the paint is in decent shape for the age, but up close you can see a few defects. There are rock chips on the front spoiler and around the grill, and some scratches here and there on the body, especially around the door handles. The body is solid. There is no rust or serious accident damage that I can see. The convertible top looks near-new, and has a glass rear window. The power mechanism works well, folding the top neatly away under a panel that gives the car a nice, clean look when the top is down. The front passenger’s window works normally but may need adjustment because there is a small gap along the front edge when the window is up. When I took the car through the wash, water leaked in around this gap and there was a small leak at the corner where the top and windshield meet on the driver’s side. This was a high-pressure wash, so these places may not leak in the rain, but it would be worth getting the seals checked and having the passenger’s window adjusted. The switch for the rear passenger’s side window can be a bit temperamental, and sometimes you have to click it a few times to get the window to come up. The 17” alloy wheels have a few scuffs, but otherwise look great. The rear tires have plenty of tread, but the front tires are worn and need to be replaced. The wipers and washer work well. All of the exterior lights work. The passenger’s side view mirror has had its mirror plate replaced with a generic one. The lens on the front passenger's side turn signal is missing. The power antenna works but does not fully retract. Overall though, the car is solid and it looks great. The grey interior of the car shows some wear and tear, but is generally OK. The dash and door panels are clean, with no cracks or sun damage. The leather seats are comfortable and supportive, but the front seats (especially the driver’s) have a lot of cracking and wear, and there is a tear along the seam of the driver’s seat. The center console armrest is also cracked, and the steering wheel is worn. Factory mats are available, but have some staining. The carpets are OK. The A/C blows cold, and the heater works well too. This car is loaded with options. It has power windows, power mirrors, power / remote locks (remote needs a battery), heated seats, heated mirrors, a power top, power seats, Dolby Surround Sound, cruise control, and driver and passenger airbags. I cannot tell if the heated seats or mirrors are working. An aftermarket Panasonic stereo / CD player has been installed. Currently there is no sound when it is on. There is a large amp in the trunk that has been disconnected, so I believe that is why the speakers are not working. All of the interior lights work. There are no warning lights showing on the dash, but the "service" light does stay on for a few minutes after start-up. The kick-panels beneath the glove box and along the bottom of the passenger’s door are missing, and the rear side panels have some damage, but replacements can probably be found relatively cheap in a junkyard or online. This is a great looking car that would make a wonderful summer cruiser / daily driver for someone. It has attractive lines, ample power, decent gas mileage, a no-hassle power top, and a usable back seat. This is not a perfect car, it has some flaws and requires some maintenance. I have described all of the flaws that I have found, but there may be others that I have not found, so please read the description thoroughly, examine all of the pictures and then come see / drive the car in person before you decide to bid. I welcome bidders to come check out this car, just please give me at least 24 hours notice that you want to come so that I can adjust my busy schedule.
