This 1997 Suburban has been a part of my family since new - first leased by my parents and then bought out - it was a New Jersey registered truck and passed all of its inspections while it was there. It was originally leased from John Lucas Chevy (there's a sticker on the back indicating this), but it was always serviced at Sea Coast Chevy. It had satellite radio installed professionally a few years ago. It had a $2000 brake job (all new lines and new break booster, etc.) done on it before I drove it from my parents' home in NJ to Indiana in January of 2014. I drove it until Fall 2014, when I got a newer truck. Since I've started it and drove it a few times, last driven on September 19th, 2015. After a jump (battery was dead of course) it fired right up. It's just been sitting since then. It's got a 5.7L (350 ci) Vortec fuel injected V8. A lot of people really prefer these over the later 5.3 - having one in my current truck (an 07 Tahoe) I can understand the sentiment. The driver's seat has the common problem of being wobbly - a quick simple tack weld to get it back together will solve the issue. The interior cloth is in great condition. It has a fold down rear gate, bench seats in the back and three rows total - it's hauled around 8 people and a lot of luggage comfortably a lot in its time. The 4X4 doesn't engage when you press the button but I've been told it's probably an actuator which (again I was told) is an inexpensive fix. The rear end makes some noise and I have been told it's coming from some kind of bearing in it. Seems to drive alright for now but worth checking out. Minimal rust especially for the number of miles on the truck. also, it has a hitch but has NEVER towed anything at all its entire life - this was strictly a people hauler. In terms of condition this compares favorably to examples I've seen with less than half the miles of this one - it has been extremely well cared for, oil changed every 3000 miles, fixed when it needs to be fixed. I basically grew up in this truck and except for the time when I was off at summer camp or college I've been around it all its life. Because it has been sitting a while and I am not a mechanic by any means, I am selling it absolutely as-is and it is for local pickup only although I am open to shipping if you arrange all of it on your end. It is extremely sad to see it go but I really hope someone can give it some TLC and enjoy it as much as my family has. I have a clean title in hand, and I'm offering the truck at no reserve. I just checked kbb.com - feel free to do the same - and the book value of this truck with this number of miles in Bloomington Indiana area where I am (I said fair condition to be conservative) was over $2200.
