They don't get any better or more original than this Classic 1978 Jeep CJ 7.  True California Jeep CJ that has not been molested, abused or cut up in the past 38 years. A true rust free California CJ  that has been restored back to 'like new conduction" and in "like new running order". The motor even retains "all it's factory original smog equipment 38 year's later" (That's rare). Motor was rebuilt and runs outstanding! The original Jeep radiator was "up graded" to a newer 4 core aluminum radiator for even better cooling then Jeep offered in 1978. * The motor is backed by a "factory Turbo 400 "bullet proof" Auto Transmission that is also in like new working order. The front end is factory Jeep Dana 30 and the rear end is factory Jeep Dana 20 as it should be.  All running gear under this Jeep has been rebuilt and is factory correct and original to this Jeep. This Jeep is also equipped with the factory high end option of Jeep Quadra Trac . Quadra Trac was Jeeps factory AWD option giving the driver superior control and handling of vehicle on the highway or Interstate at high driving speed's. It works = This Classic Jeep CJ drives outstanding !  It's stable and drives and handles more like a car on the Interstate than a JEEP. The Factory 4 Wheel Drive Transfer case  is the good "Borg Warner 1339" also rebuilt like new!  4 Wheel Drive transfer case give's you a 4 Wheel drive HIGH RANGE option  for street driving. And a 4 Wheel drive LOW RANGE option for OFF ROAD DRIVING off pavement. You don't need to get out of the Jeep to "lock the front hubs". You turn a switch on the dash to engage the 4 wheel drive "locker option"  It locks both the front and the rear end together giving equal power to both front and rear end at the sale time. The factory gearing is 3.54  great gearing for a Jeep that can be driven everyday On "or" Off road.  The 3;54 is a great mid range gearing so you you get the best of both worlds in this Jeep CJ. * Jeep also has factory "power steering" it drives outstanding, no free play or slop in steering. * Factory "power Disc brakes" with the big factory 10 inch brake calipers on front. * Factory sway bar, no body sway handles nice. * Factory tilt steering column for easy in and out. *Adjustable reclining front bucket seat's. * I have an older flip and tumble" rear seat that buyer can have if you want to ride rear passengers in the rear . *Jeep up graded to Full Roll Cage for added driver & passenger safety. *Jeep is fitted with a locking console and "two extra locking storage boxes in rear. Yes, all the 4 wheel drive work's like new! The transfer case was rebuilt and a new US Made Drive Chain was installed in Transfer case. The good one "as required from factory" ( Sorry forgot to put that in the listing)  Yes, the motor is original to the Jeep ( it's rebuilt but original to this Jeep). Yes,  people call that matching numbers!  I even kept all the original smog parts on the motor  to keep it original !  I have been restoring and repairing Jeep CJ for over 40 years. When you find a Classic CJ that is Original and not rusted out and still fitted with all it's original factory equipment including original smog options on a V8 motor  Please don't commit a restoration crime, to all the true classic collectors of this world and cut and molest the project. ( Restore them back original - If original )  If your going to build a mug truck or rock crawler please use one of the many "non original Jeep's out there to do so.   It's very rare and hard to find 38 year old Classic CJ that is still retain all the original factory options. But one could install A/C from Vintage Air if they wanted AIR on it. My son installed A/C on his hard top CJ but he never takes the top off! . I'm a old school Jeep guy and like to run with the top off and no door's ( so AIR won't work very well with the top and door's removed ) One could install a Power Winch on the Front. Or a high lift Jack across the hood to give it more OFF ROAD looking bling.
