Up For sale is this 1988 Honda Fourtrax 4-wheeler. This ATV is 2-wheel drive and manual shift transmission. I believe that I am the 3rd owner. This 4-wheeler is a very nice and dependable ride. With this ATV comes a 2,000 lb. winch, Coleman all-weather cover, genuine Honda shop manual & a pair of "DAWS" aluminum 1,000 lb. ramps. I will separate the ramps if you're not interested, we can deduct $100 of the purchase price if so. Mechanical good & bad: Very powerful 300cc engine - Runs strong for the age. The ONLY "defect" that is worth noting is that at first start-up when the engine is cold, the engine tends to stall after about ten minutes of running. It's almost like it's either not getting enough fuel or "choking" itself. This a weird occurrence that doesn't always happen. The good part is that after this happens you can crank the engine immediately and it will not occur again the rest of the time that you are riding. I did have the carburetor taken off a couple of years ago to clean it. While I had it out I replaced the choke tube and gasket that runs into the carb and this seemed to help the stalling a bit. The transmission - Transmission shifts like a dream, no issues there Brakes - Brakes are good and in excellent working order Steering/Handle Bars - Steering is tight and working well. I replaced to handle bar rubber grips one year ago. Dash Panel/Switches - All lights and switches work on the dash, all headlamps & tail lamps work as well. Wheels & Tires - The wheels & tires that are on this 4-wheeler came off of a later model Honda. The tires are soft and supple with no cracks, dry-rot, tire plugs or cuts. The wheels are painted silver with no imperfections. Suspension/Chassis - All is good here considering the age. No major imperfections to note. Everything works as it should. Battery - Battery was replaced in November 2015 from Battery's + Bulbs. Winch - New winch was bought in late 2014, used once. Body good & bad: Fenders and body panels - The gas tank is in really good shape, no major rust or dents. Both front & rear fenders are beginning to show their age, There are a few minor cracks in the fenders in various places. There is also deterioration of the plastic material on both. Luggage Racks/Brush Guard - Both racks are in structurally good shape. The front rack has the 2,000 lb. winch bolted to it. The rear rack only has a minor issue with the "gear lid" bars. These bars are bent from too much weight at some point in time. The front brush guard is in good shape without any defects. The rear gear storage compartment is dry and in good shape that comes with the original tool pouch that came with this model. Seat - The seat was recovered three years ago. No imperfections.
