1965 Ford Mustang Coupe with a 6 cylinder 200 cubic inch engine and a C-4 Automatic transmission is up for auction We, the current owners, have owned it since about 1984, and are only the second owners. We hate to see it go, but the time has come. The odometer shows 175,000 and is believed to be original. The engine does start and run if gas is poured into the carb, but the fuel line from the gas tank must be plugged. The battery does not hold a charge, so it has to be jumped to get it started. The original engine is in the car on the floor, and the current engine is from another 1965 Mustang. The car is mostly complete, as shown in the pictures. This will make a great restoration project, starting with a complete car, plus an extra engine. The car has only had one repaint in it's 50 year life, that we can tell. Inside the trunk lid, the shiny original paint and even the original paper jacking instruction label are still showing. That is not an aftermarket sticker. The options it has: windshield washers, remote driver's door mirror, and day/night review mirror. It was a very well cared for car, but has just been sitting for the last 10 years. Here are the issues or problems we are aware of: The car has some rust spots on the rear quarter panels and doors. The front floor pans do have rust holes, with the right side worse than the left, as shown in the photos. The dash was cut for a radio, and speaker holes cut in the doors. The hood is from another car, and does have two holes drilled in it for hood pins, and a little bit of rust on the front lip. There is a small rust bubble on the driver's side rear frame rail. The trunk floor is solid. The front left brake shoes were taken out, as they were locked up, so there are no working brakes currently. The car is located in Sauharita, south of Tucson, Arizona.
