Vehicle Detail

1989 S4 Auto w/121,694 miles (mileage as of listing)Just coming off a 1 year refurbishment. This is a rare SUPERCAR! This car was $75,000 when new. Get in on a 928 before the values rise even more...Hagerty values my car at nearly $25,000 For the price of a used KIA Optima w/30K to 60K miles, you can own a Porsche legend 5.0 Liter V8 (4,957cc)4-speed automatic32-valve / DOHCDual distributorRecently repaintedApprox. 350 HP/340 ft. lb. torque...after modsCAT delete w/Dave Lomas-Louis Ott X-pipeFactory ram airRear air conditioning optionRear wheel steering assist (passive)Brembo disc brakesFairly new tires (Mich. (rounded down slightly) 104,000 miles. In approx. 5.5 years & 17,694 miles I drove it (avg. 3,200 miles per year), I've done a ton of work. I'd total up the receipts, but I don't want to know the final talley :-)*UPDATE* Like an idiot, I did add up my receipts...scroll to very bottom I know most everyone says "serious buyers only"...but please inquire only if really serious. Bid only if you intend to go thru with purchase. CASH PLEASE...any other form of payment has to clear my bank before you receive title/car...no exceptions. I can provide feedback from my last (Dec. 2014) car sale (1970 Barracuda) to help ease any concerns. No renegotiating the price after car inspection/test drive...if you click "Buy it Now"I can assist with your shipper. I can pick you up at airport. I will do what I can to calm any anxiety over purchasing a car on eBay...I've been in those shoes before and know how it feels.I welcome 3rd party inspection. I have receipts and hundreds of pictures to document anything mentioned in this listing. There is lots of detail on my personal website for my cars: (3w's).oligulyas dot com ...see Porsche 928 tabIf you go to the "Exhaust Upgrade 2015" tab on my site, you can hear this car.Don't forget the Painting tab...lots of good stuff there (and Engine Detail tab as well) Now that we have that out of the way... If you are new to Porsche 928's, don't let the mileage concern you too much. With good regular maintenance (and respectful driving) the 928 engine is known to last up to 300K miles...the engine will usually outlast the car.The transmission is also robust (built by Mercedes for Porsche). 16 minute VIDEO "WALK-AROUND" here: dropbox.com/s/8q3tu6mwm5v83j9/00000.MTS?dl=0(As you know, eBay has a policy against links...so you may have to add 3 w's and a dot before the link above...depending on your browser). I apologize ahead for the intermittent wind noise. The video feed cuts off after 15 minutes...didn't know Drop Box rules (video was actually 16 minutes long...didn't miss much...mostly scanning under the car)LoRez link here (in case you want to download (then view) the "entire" video);dropbox.com/s/8rv7651pj417k8x/928%20eBay%20video%20LoRez.m4v?dl=0 Major repairs/maintenance done (that are usually needed between 90K-120K miles):Torque tube bearing replacement (approx. $1,600)...at 110,103 milesNew aluminum racing radiator from 928 Motor Sports (over $900)...at 119,624 milesNew brakes and rotors...113,026 milesTiming belt/water pump replaced at 104K..plus numerous times before/per scheduleFuel injectors removed and cleaned...111,005 milesMAF rebuilt by famous re-builder (JDS)...same time as above/111,005 milesRear CV boots replaced...105,408 milesNew a/c compressor/dryer (134a)...at 113,445 milesTransmission routine maintenance (flush/clean/etc.)...last one at 119,472 milesNew oxygen sensor...108,910 milesAll the work above performed by highly acclaimed local Porsche specialist repair shop...receipts in hand...most of them in the last 3 years. Replaced 2 cross-oversReplace all factory drivers2 New powered 10" Boss subwoofers in semi-hidden compartment in rear hatch area...w/2 fans. Also has volume control for each sub in front dash area (somewhat hidden) Known issues to address (optional...nothing that serious):Sunroof worked before repaint...I lost patience making it all work again (binds a little). Repair parts are available by the 4 big 928 vendors.Almost any car that is 27 years old w/121K miles will have a few drops of oil and/or transmission fluid underneath "if" the car just sits there without being started periodically. When I drove this car 5 days a week to work, there were no drips of any kind underneath. If you let the car sit there (meaning you don't even start & run it 5-7 minutes) for 4-7 days, you will see a drop or two under the car. I'm just trying to be honest in my ad, not scare anyone. If you come inspect the car, you will not see any old puddle stains on my driveway from the 928. If you look at the pictures/video of the car's underside, you won't see sludge/slinging/oil saturation of any kind.Driver's side motorized seats (up/down function) blows the fuse every once in a while during operation...probably needs gears/tracks cleaned/lubed. If I need to adjust, I slightly lift myself up to relieve motor tension and fuse doesn't blow that way.I installed a manual heater control cable (the factory vacuum operated unit is plastic and not known to last long). Your call if you want to reverse this...Paint job had a few tiny hiccups...very small (pencil eraser size & smaller) imperfections in the right light/close up are visible (and you have to be within 3-4 feet). I had 2 different moisture filters and 25 feet of iron pipe (to cool the compressor air) but I still got 5-9 imperfections in the clear (spread out over car). The clear coat is fairly thick (3-4 coats PPG) and these will disappear more as you polish the car over time. These few tiny imperfections don't show up in pictures well. These are not as bad as I make them sound...I just don't want to mislead this was a concours show quality paint job. I spent over $5,000 in supplies alone though...Once in a while, the temperature gauge reads about 10 degrees too high...a slight tap on the right side of the instrument panel pod puts it back in place. I did verify temperature gauge with infrared temp sensor. Some of the tools in the tool kit are missingCruise control non-functional...Porsche mechanic said it needs $250 to make work againCool stuff included with sale:PorKen lift bars...so you can lift car in your own garage higher & safely (got it during exhaust work)...approx. $300Extra used blower motorOriginal muffler...I actually have a 2nd used oneOriginal dual catalytic converterOriginal center console coverFactory service manual on discTons of receipts...over an inch thick folderHundreds of photos...95% in high resolution (4 MB to 11 MB each)Original steering wheelOriginal rear spoilerOriginal radio cross-overs / harnessMany little misc. items bought during sales and such...for future use2 Factory keys / 1 locking gas cap keyRear quarter window shadesRear hatch shadeFront window shade...a nice oneIntegrated "managed" battery charger (located in spare tire area)Owner's manualTouch up paint Why am I selling after all this work/expense? I've only put 1.5 tank of fuel in the past 10 months...I'm just not driving it that much. It's time to let someone else take over the enjoyment...someone who will hopefully drive it more. I only live 7 miles from work...so I usually don't move cars around and such, just to drive the 928. I also avoid rainy days and hard winter days...so it just doesn't get driven much as I hoped. Car shows??? Yeah, I thought I'd have time for that now, but didn't happen. One quick disclaimer...some photos in this listing show the old exhaust (looks like a single pipe). The weather is not cooperating to get [nice] new shots of the back with the new (dual exit) exhaust...but you can go to my car site and look under the Exhaust Upgrade 2015 tab to see the photos. / Okay, one more disclaimer, the radio in the some of the interior photos may show the old/non-motorized unit. Thanks for your interest! I have the car advertised locally. If someone comes up with cash in hand (and meets the reserve), I reserve the right to sell. "IF" I do so, it would be in a respectful manner...meaning, if an eBay buyer has spent a lot of time/effort on my listing, I'd give right of 1st refusal. *UPDATE*I totaled up my receipts...break down as follows:Repairs by professionals= $9,178Paint & Paint supplies= $5,001...plus 8 months of my laborExhaust= $587Tires/Rims= $1,373Misc. parts/stereo/radiator/etc.= $8,780 For a total of $24,919 (UPDATE: found another $2,000 in receipts at work) PLUS the original purchase price of the car in 2010PLUS oil changes, battery, inspections, cleaning supplies, registration, 1st set of tires, alignment, etc. I'm not complaining though...I enjoyed the car very much.
