Vehicle Detail
1999 Ford E-250 van, Explorer high top conversion E250 heavy duty chassis. 5.4L V8, AC, PS, PB, American Racing Alloy 17" wheels, electric windows, remote mirrors. The Explorer conversion includes a TV, VCR, power driver and passenger seats with electric heat and lumber adjustment, captains chairs, and an electric rear couch, all upholstery is leather. The body is in good shape with no rust. This van has lots of new parts, heavy duty truck tires, shocks, brakes, and a rebuilt transmission with only 2000 miles on it, but the engine has a bad rod, and needs rebuilding. Currently battery is discharged. It will run, but you should be prepared to tow it. Everything worked on the van before the engine problem. The pictures show the rear couch half unfolded, but it does work. Note, Carfax flags a possible odometer problem, but you can see that the referenced entry is obviously an error, and the current odometer reading is correct. I have a clean title. Van is located in Chattanooga TN. I can help arrange for local repair if you are out of town. A new engine will cost about $4500 installed, or you could have a used engine installed for about $2500. I looked into this and there are reputable firms who pull engines from wrecks and test them, then resell them with a 30 day warranty. Repaired van with high top conversion and new powertrain should be worth about $8000. Unfortunately I do not have any more money to invest in this vehicle. This would be a good deal for a mechanic to fix, or buy it for parts. Transmission, wheels and shocks will fit a wide variety of Ford vans. The transmission rebuild alone cost $3000. Will not part out, I'm selling it intact. Only bidders with positive feedback will be accepted. If you have no bidding history, I will cancel your bid. Fraudulent bids will be reported to ebay. Buyer will need to deposit $500 via PayPal within 24 hours, and arrange to pickup/tow the vehicle from my property within 7 days. Thank you.
