Here is a 1987 Toyota pickup 4x4 with 264,000 miles. This pickup has a 90's bed that my father had installed when the original bed got too rusted, he wasn't able to find one from this model. Whole truck needs a paint job. Scratches and dents throughout the body but nothing major. Has a cracked lower valance. The main issues with this truck is the rust on the chassis. Everything else (tires,brakes,suspension,etc) is as expected from a used car. So I'm going to start with the main problems first. There are three major rust areas on this truck: First is the bar(cross member?) that runs on top of the gas tank and exhaust pipe. It has rusted away in the middle. I took some pics of this hopefully you can see it clearly. The other area that's bad is the driver's kick panel, you can actually see the front tire through the hole. And finally, the area on the chassis by the right leaf spring has now started to rust. There are other places that are corroded but these 3 are the worst. Ok, so no problems with the engine. Awesome 22r motor starts right away. Does not burn oil but it does have an oil leak somewhere. The clutch is starting to go, you can feel that 4th and 5th gear are not that responsive. And finally, at high speeds it vibrates when you press on the brakes. The truck has new calipers so I believe it's the rotors. I have listed what I think are the major problems with this truck, if you have any questions please contact me. Now the interior is in decent condition, with the tear on the seat being the worst damage. Right side of the dashboard is new with no cracks. Heater control fascia is also new with no yellowing or cracks. This truck is excellent in the winter, never got stuck in the snow with it. This legendary truck can run for many more years if restored, and if you have the funds to do it. I do not have the time or money to fix it. The truck is located in Linden,NJ.
