Vehicle Detail
1978 chevy k5 blazer, cheyenne package, automatic 350 turbo, rebuilt 350 4bbl engine, 4x4, A/C truck, cruise control, clean title, This is a great truck, i have taken my time over the last 8 months and went over this truck completely getting it mechanically sound and then ready to get painted, i have replaced, rebuilt, or repaired just about everything mechanically that needed it, making it a solid dependable, completely functional truck, this truck runs, drives, and handles, and rides very good, is a daily driver, i wouldnt be afraid to drive it anywhere or any distance, its never left me down. Needs nothing mechanically and is ready to go cruising tonite. All that needs done is a few minor things to finish it which have nothing to do with it mechanically, which ill list below, but other than that it is a good dependable truck and needs nothing, and is ready to take the next step and get a paint job done and become a top notch truck. Truck is inspected for a long time yet till next june, 5/16, truck has a plate, and insurance and if your local and want to come in person to see it we can go for a ride when you come see it, no problem. A few details about the truck, this truck at one time was stored for over 15 years in a dry, cement floor closed garage by previous owner who started to rebuild and restore it but never finished it which is why it slipped thru the cracks and is pretty much unmolested and in better than average shape, which is pretty rare these days, most are plain jane models, or have been gutted and beat up, its all there, and in pretty much original shape, and the interior in my opinion is in pretty dam good shape for its age, considering it is all original, and almost 40 years old, im not trying to tout it as "like new", but pretty dam good. Some people covet a pretty outside over an inside, well this truck isnt pretty on the outside, but she is on the inside, this interior is worth as much as a truck with a pretty outside and crappy interior. Fenders, doors and hoods are easy to be had, an interior like this aint. The truck is very solid, outside is faded, and will need painted at some point, but has very little actual rust rot on it, most of it is just some small surface rust patches here and there, but very little actual rust holes, the main areas that need the most work are the two rocker panels themselves, and directly behind them, and these rockers are a piece of cake to replace, other than that theres not much rust repair needed, just a few small areas here and there and thats about it, pretty much just the average areas these trucks are known for, but nothing terrible, and overall very solid, and better than average. Also the engine was completely rebuilt by previous owner and hardly driven, and had less than 15,000 miles put on it when i bought it, its bored 30 over, all new crank,rods,4 valve relief pistons, rings, oil pump, cam, lifters, valve job, its built to stock specs, not a race motor, and runs and sounds great, choke works properly, doesnt burn oil, no puffs of smoke, no puffs of smoke at start up, a good tight motor that will last a long time, i have probably put about 3000 miles on it since....never let me down....tires are still pretty good, wont need tires for awhile they are certainly good enough to get through winter and beyond. 4 wheel drive works great, transfer case shifts smooth. Has original wagon wheels, and side mirrors. I have the two pieces of chrome that go on the tailgate, i just never got around to putting them back on after putting the new tailgate on since i had planned on getting it painted. The following has been replaced new just over the last several months....i cant possibly list everything ive done with and to this truck, so if serious e-mail and i can answer any questions, ive spent a lot of time, labor, and money on it. new tailgate.... new front and rear brakes.... two new rear wheel cylinders.... two new front brake calipers.... new master cylinder.... new brake lines to the rear brakes and on rearend.... two new super strength moog front axle shaft universals with grease fittings.... both front hubs cleaned and repacked.... new oil and filter change.... new spark plugs.... new sparkplug wires.... new accel cap and rotor.... replaced all top engine gaskets, while painting some stuff , nothing fancy just wanted to make it nice looking.... anti-freeze.... new heater motor, blows nice heat.... new custom made true 3" dual exhaust all the way out the back.... two new 3" in/out thrush welded mufflers, sounds awesome.... new air cleaner.... two new headlights.... fanbelt.... cleaned all electrical connections.... emergency brake works nice.... gauges work nice.... almost all the little stuff works to, including the wonderfully annoying seat belt buzzer.... The things i didnt get around to i wanted to. i never got a air conditioner compressor, and lines, everything is there for the air conditioner except the compressor, and two main lines, the condensor is there in front of radiator, just needs the lines to connect to it,the controls work in dash, so will be easy to hook back up and charge. the little metal track that is on the bottom of the tailgate window needs replaced, it works fine and goes up and down, you just have to help guide it with your hand until it is in the slots in the cap, but winds up and down nice, and fits tight and does not leak when closed, and that track part is inexpensive, also the the tailgate window winder actually works and locks and unlocks with the key which most dont, i never finished adjusting tailgate, and opening rods, but pretty close. This is a good solid straight truck, and mechanically sound, and ready to take to the next level and become a sweet high dollar truck , this has the cheyenne package which is one of their top of the line models back in the day along with the silverado, so it is one of the much more desirable models. ive tried to list everything, and give as much information as i kould, but cant cover everything, and every question in this ad, so if interested get ahold of me, e-mail is the best way to contact me as im on the computer alot. willing to talk on the phone if youd like also. The only reason i decided to sell this is because i got another project car unexpectedly, and have decided id like to get it done for summertime now instead of the truck, and the only way i can do it is to part with one of my toys, and this is the most expendable one i have. These trucks are now bonafide highly sought after classics appreciating yearly, all this truck needs now is the cosmetics done on the exterior, and it will be a hell of a nice truck, this truck has the potential to be worth a lot of money, and you'll look a long while before you'll find one with such a nice interior thats all original. Definately worth more than my reserve, someone will get a nice deal.
