Vehicle Detail
This is a nice 2004 Insight with a clean title. It is a nice car that gets great gas mileage because of the design of the car. It is made of high strength aluminum, has the preferred automatic transmission and weighs only 2200 pounds. That is 1000 pounds less than the Toyota Prius. The a/c is cold. The IMA battery charges as it should and the autostop works perfectly. The IMA was just grid charged by an Insight specialty mechanic that I use. It is perfectly balanced. He also installed a charging/de-decharging cord in case you want to buy a grid charger. This way all you do is plug it in if you want to keep the batteries up at all times. I have also had the heavy duty rear spring upgrade installed and the single piece aluminum panel for under the motor that my mechanic hand makes. The inside and outside of my car is clean. It has the upgraded am/fm/cd with 4 speaker stereo system. It comes with a brand cargo net for the back area. All VIN stickers are where they should be, even on the back bumper cover. This is an important question to ask other sellers. If you are paying top dollar for a 1st Gen Insight you need an accident free Insight which this is. If it is missing vin stickers you should ask why before buying. These cars last well into the 400,000 miles mark and will also go up in value because they are rare finds. Honda built very few of these cars world wide. Even Jay Leno, an avid car collector, says the 1st Generation Insight will soon be collectors items. They cost $30,000 to build. Honda still services them also. This model of Honda Insight is still to this day the absolute king of mpg of all hybrids. Sure you can buy an all electric Chevy Volt or even a Tesla but do you really want to spend $45,000 to $70,000 on a car that has a charge rate of just 5 miles per hour? Talk about limitations. For basically the price of a used Ford Focus you buy my car and get 50+ miles per gallon or more depending on how you drive. The 1st Gen Insight was introduced into the US a full 7 months before the Toyota Prius so was the very 1st Hybrid on the market. Even today in 2015 no Prius or other hybrid car can beat my car's mpg. Here is the proof (add a 'w' to each before copy and pasting) ww.motherearthnews.com/green-transportation/miles-per-gallon-cars-zb0z11zblon.aspx and a neat insight video ww.youtube.com/watch?v=9WYypHmERtw Please remember my car is a 2004 model , not a 2000 or 2001 or 2002 or 2003. It is newer than those models so that is why my final price is will be more than older Insights. Lastly, I am a small car dealer here in Orange, California. This means you are protected in your purchase because I am licensed and bonded. I specialize in these Insights. If you buy this and live in California you will also need to add salestax. I pay all other fees. You pay sales tax even with a private party sale but you pay it at the dmv so it does not feel like an extra fee, just expensive registration. But I collect this sad to say, not the dmv. In fact I complete all dmv paperwork for free if you want. If you prefer to do it that is fine also. If you live out of state you do not need to pay me salestax. I can also pick you up at the airport if you buy it and live out of state. You can then have an easy and inexpensive drive home. Choose John Wayne Santa Ana if you want to fly here. If you want to have it shipped I can take it to the shipper for you. If you need me to store the Insight for you I an do this for up to 1 month free. Send me a message and we can work this part out . Regarding cruise control, no Insights have this as Japanese makers felt the drives would not be long enough to install it. You can install one pretty easily for about $300. Here is how to do it ww.insightcentral.net/owners/mods/cruise1.htm ((put an extra w so you can click on it)) Sorry this has to be said: This is a listing to buy my car. If you win the auction you are legally obligated under Ebay's rules to pay for it. If you need a bank loan, need to ask your wife or husband or pastor or mom or check with your psychic advisor,,, please have these issues resolved before you bid, not after. If you win the auction you just bought the car. This is why a deposit is required. It really is that simple. I have done a 10 day auction so you have plenty of time to ask questions. Please let me know if there is anything I can help answer for you. I love these cars and drive one daily.
