Up for auction is my 1972 Nova SS Clone. This car started life in California as a Green 6 cylinder, 2 speed power glide, with a 10 bolt limited slip rear end. I bought the car from the 2nd owner, who had plans of doing pretty much the same thing I did, but did not have the time.So I tore it down to a shell, and built it up from there. The car was 99% rust free, with the exception of a little rust starting at the bottom of both fenders. I put on 2 new ones, and also installed new door skins and quarter skins, due to it having a bunch of little whisky dents down both the doors and rear quarters. I didn't want a lot of bondo on it, so the new skins were the logical choice. The floors, trunk, rocker panels, and foront and rear cowl panels all had 0 rust on them. The motor is a 73 Elcamino SS 454 that was rebuilt with a mild RV cam installed as well as being bored out. The tranny is a turbo 400 that was also rebuilt and a B&M shift kit was put in to give it that nasty shift from 1st to 2nd and 2nd to 3rd. The rear differential is the original, and still going strong. I repainted it 69-70 Hugger orange, and installed a 67-68 Camaro rear spoiler, it fits very well, with only a little trimming done on the ends to make it fit. I cleaned and repainted the underside of the Nova, and installed sub frame connectors and a special transmission mount for the turbo 400 both of which I picked up from Summit racing. I never got to that, and it is missing the trim pieces that go around the headlner, I don't think they make after market pieces, so they would have to be found in a wrecking yard, or someone parting out and old nova or ventura. I never came across any. The car runs, drives and looks great , and turns heads everywhere it goes.
