Up for sale is a well preserved 1984 Honda VF1000F, previous owner had it for 10 years and took very good care of it.It starts right up, idles well and rides great - has that lovely V4 rumble with plenty of low end grunt. Mechanically:It could use tires, they are a bit old and dry rottedFront end and carbs were rebuilt last year (though I suspect a synch and valve check would have it running that much smoother)Thermostat was replaced with a lower temp unit to keep the bike much cooler in hotter weatherEngine has a noise only audible when cold, Previous owner had it looked at by a Honda dealer as soon as he heard it and they said it's nothing to worry about and this V4 will run forever, they are aware of the bad cam issue but said it was not related and likely just a lazy timing tensioner. Cosmetically it is in very good shape for a bike of this vintage:There is a slight fading of the blue on the right side fairing under the seat that abuts the tank. The hand controls have gone gray from UV damageSlight fading on the tail above the tail lampVarious slight scratches on the blinkers and exhaust canWindshield seems a bit foggyA polish and wax would bring it back to near showroom shine All in all, it is a very solid motorcycles that just needs a few finishing touches or ride it as is.
