I bought this car six years ago and has been a very dependable, comfortable daily driver. Last year the IMA light started coming on regularly even after I would remove the 12 volt battery cable to reset it. It’s long overdue for a new battery pack, but still runs great and gets over 56 mpg. Like most of the manual transmissions on these cars the first and second gear have lost their synchros and I double clutch to down shift into those gears. The AC which used to blow ice cold also stopped working last month. Heater works fine. Four years ago I installed the off market additions of a harness for a plug-in charger which helped the battery live a lot longer, a button that allows you to engage the wheel generators without stepping on the brake, and a switch that allows you to disengage the charge/assist system when you want to do it manually and not automatically. I am going to keep the plug-in charger for my other Insight. If you don’t want the button and switch options I can remove them. Exterior is pretty decent, minus a small dent in the passenger rear quarter, forward of the rear wheel, and some scuffs and tears on the front and rear plastic bumpers. Plastic ground effect pieces are no longer attached; this makes it much easier to change oil and filter. Tires in good condition. Jack and spare. Interior is OK, seats fair with a patch on the driver’s seat in the usual exit point, and the rear hatch supports need replacement. Also the automatic lock on the hatch has stopped working so I removed the latch for easy access(except for the sheer weight of the hatch). Custom support stick included!
