Vehicle Detail
Clean, reliable, smooth running. Looks good for a car in this price range. Wife bought a Jaguar and we don't need the Saab any more. All the mechanicals work great. No smoke, the brakes feel good, the traction control and stability control work great, the air blows cold. A very safe and comfortable car. I have owned since April of 2009, and gone from 34,000 to 138,000 with no major issues. Gets good mileage and runs on 87 octane. This car was competitive with a BMW 5-series, and it feels that way to drive it. Nice leather, good wood on the dash. Front-drive, so good in snow. The Saab 9-5 has an excellent reputation for safety. I changed the accessory drive system a few thousand miles ago, which means new alternator, pulleys, P/S pump, water pump, belt, etc. Plugs & filters are all recent, tires are good, car is ready to drive anywhere. Light window tint, professionally added after I bought it, and I don't see any flaws or discoloration. Both rear seats can fold flat, and with a large trunk, can carry a lot. Car could fit a lot of purposes. Big enough for a family, economical & reliable enough for a "work car", and cool enough (but still very safe) for a kids first car. Because it has a manual transmission, a lot of people won't consider it. But it is a lot of fun to drive, gas mileage with the stick is very good, and the performance is great. I live south of Kansas City and this a good place for someone who hasn't driven a car with a clutch very much to start from, as my neighborhood isn't busy at all. So if you need a little practice before hitting the road, this is the place to do it. But of course, a first-time clutch/manual driver will have to buy it before practice begins - I am happy to show you how, though. Edmunds shows a Private Party value, in Clean condition, with the equipment and mileage it has, of $2,389 - so that's my buy it now. I'm starting the auction at Edmunds trade-in price. If someone wants a clean, reliable, presentable car for not much money, it will be hard to find one this good anywhere near the price. If you've got realistic expectations for a car under $2,500 you'll be pleased when you see it. Hope it finds a good home, I think it will be a really nice car for someone. On Oct-06-15 at 17:47:49 PDT, seller added the following information: I see "Buy it Now" has gone away, so we'll have to wait until the auction ends and see who is the highest bidder. The title shows I bought it at 34,000 miles - but I believe 54,000 miles was correct. I made the listing while looking at the title, and assumed it was more accurate than my fuzzy memories. Either way, the odometer reading itself is correct.
