Vehicle Detail
Near original 1981 Fiat X1/9 Fun car, mid engine, 4 wheel disc brakes, unmolested and unrestored original . Fuel injected. Great driver and good looker:Original paint except nose, center of rear trunk lid, and driver’s side front fender. All emissions control equipment present and accounted for. Engine is strong. Transmission good, no issues with syncros or popping out of any gear including reverse. Drives straight. Handles great. Brakes excellent & stops straight. Good tires. Starts every time. Turns heads. Great color combo & patina. Matching spare. Tool kit. Original jack. Parking lights, brake lights, license plate lights, wipers, and turn signals work. Windows roll up/down as they should. Interior fan works. Radiator fan works. Doesn't overheat. Headliner excellent. Locks work. Latches work. Mirrors good. Parking brake good. Clutch good. No odd noises. Title in hand. And rare for an old Fiat, it sat two weeks while I was on vacation, and not a drop of oil on the garage floor! A true classic Fiat. New (in last 6 months): seat upholstery, battery, plugs, cap, rotor, wires, valve stem seals (this one is a hard one to do), reman rear brake calipers, brake and clutch master cylinders, and front wheel bearing. This has been my daily driver this summer and the car has been reliable and is a hoot to drive fast. I’d take this car cross country, but one thing I’d do first is change out the coolant hoses as they are original but they don’t leak or have any other obvious issues. < $70 for the hose kit. And that's the ONLY thing I'd do.Minor rust here and there but you can really tell this was a rust proofed vehicle since it's so minor – see detailed pictures. Solid floors. Note: It's easy to say "no rust" on a repainted car, you actually never know what was there before, here you can see exactly what you have with the original paint. That said, this car is coming up on 35 years old and has normal dings and wear on the body. Known minor mostly cosmetic issues: Lights don’t pop up automatically but can be raised manually (motor covers included but not shown), high beams work and can be used for night driving. Interior light doesn’t work. Heater control knob broken off but still works fine. Visors MIA. Door cards and bulkhead padding painted original color at some point wayyy back, both look presentable. Glove box hinges broken. Drivers side carpet shows wear under floor mat. Fuel gauge DOA but low level light works fine so I have never run out of gas, other gauges work fine including the odometer. Horn relay clicks but horn doesn't beep. Tires are one size oversize and fronts rub liners on steering lock during parking. AC installed but doesn't work. Top of plastic front grill cracked but can't really see it unless laying on ground. Dash has minor crack in corner. One small rock ding in front of driver, no cracks, rest of glass perfect. Sometimes starter sticks on for a few seconds and then releases, always starts fine. After sitting for a few weeks get some smoke on starting but doesn't really burn any oil. Repainted areas not done very well. That's everything I can think of. No warranty expressed or implied. Study pictures carefully, they tell the story. Free delivery within 100 miles of 98332. Don't bid if you can't buy, please. Bidders with less than 10 feedbacks contact me before bidding. PAYPAL ONLY. $500 deposit due within 24 hours of end of auction. Will deliver to shipping terminal in Tacoma. Late note: The bright mark above the door handle on the passengers door card is not a tear or hole, its a reflection from the camera lens, there is actually nothing there. This car is a deal at the BIN price! Only going to go up in value in the future. Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE
