Vehicle Detail
1975 Corvette Convertible Project Car. The last year of convertibles for the C3 Stingrays. Originally Blue Metallic with Dark Blue Interior, now has Saddle interior components. As you can see in the pictures the car is in need of restoration, but the car is not as far off as it looks:Drivetrain: The car runs and drives out very well. Actually, very tight and solid feeling. Notice the engine bay has been cleaned and somewhat detailed out. This car is very correct including all the original smog pump system, I have the original ignition shielding for the car, and it even has the original choke set up on the car which is really rare. Due note though that the I have noticed a brake fluid leak under the right front passenger side of the car. Not sure if a caliper let go or a line is leaking.Frame: Frame is original to the car and does have surface rust from the car sitting outside for several years. It is solid though in every part I have checked and shows no signs of ever being hit, bent, patched, fixed, etc.....The birdcage area appears to be in great shape as well. The rear wheel well body mounts do have some rust damage and are something you would probably want to replace.Body: The car is in need of a new paint job, but it has been stripped down to the original base coat and its very solid. The body is very straight with no real cracking or damage, even on the factory body seams. The car did have sport mirrors at one time so there are holes in the doors, but I am including those mirrors if you would want to put them on. There are also holes for a luggage rack, which I do not have. NOTICE the car comes with a factory convertible hard top that is in excellent shape apart from some sun damage on the interior panel of it. It also has the factory soft top frame still installed and I am including a brand new soft top to go with. I also am including all of the emblems, badges, and 2 sets of stainless side trim all in excellent condition. The car will need most all weatherstripping replaced.Interior: I have two near perfect factory leather seats to include, carpet that is good but needs to be redyed due to sitting in the sun, 1 perfect drivers door panel, and 1 average passenger door panel. I have a center console section that is perfect and not cracked, but you will want a new e-brake cover. All of the gauges worked in the car last I drove it, including the tachometer. Cleaning, a little paint, some carpet bits and assembly will take you a long way interior-wise.BONUSES: I do have the ORIGINAL WINDOW STICKER to go along with the car that does indicate the factory hardtop that is included. I am also including a 1975 coupe parts car to go with. The car was hit in a head on collision on the drivers side (wheel to wheel) but had only 50,000 miles at the time so parts on the car are immaculate. It is missing the engine and transmission and interior apart from the dash, but it does have a nice set of original aluminum factory rims to go along with all the other great parts on the car. If one had the time, you could easily get $3500 or more out of parting the car out once you had taken anything you might need (power window motors, horns, clamps, screws, etc) for the convertible, though you really won't need much. I do encourage you to ask any questions you have. I want the car to be represented as accurately as possible. The car is definitely a restoration project, but with a new paint job and assembly, due to the originality, hardtop option, and window sticker, you would have a fairly valuable roadster on your hands and increase the value of your investment pretty quick. I am located in Southern Illinois and invite you to come by and check it out in person if you are in the area. There is No Reserve for the auction and unless you are fairly close, I CANNOT help with transportation. Payment will be required within 10 days of closing by cash, wire transfer, or cleared cashier's check. Thanks for looking!
