Vehicle Detail
1966 Porsche 912Short wheel baseVIN: 454976Karmann BodyEngine #: 744871 616/36 (Engine currently apart and not in vehicle, included in sale)Transmission #: 161330 902/0 For you consideration is a 1966 Porsche 912 coupe. This car started its journey as a nice, solid honest car. It has not been brought back from the dead or scabbed together. The modifications done to it were done professionally and tastefully. Somewhere along the way a previous owner lost interest in it and it set for a few years. It was removed from storage, brought back to life, and some one started stripping the paint from it. Front fenders are fiberglass. Rear flares are steel and welded to the quarter panels. The engine currently in the car is from '68 912. The original, correct engine is in pieces and comes will be included in the sale. The carburetors are Webers and ignition is a Pertronix Flame Thrower, both seem to be in great working order. The transmission is correct for the car. The front seats are from a later model Porsche. The aftermarket wheels and tires appear to be in good shape and will clean up nicely. Original color is Bahama Yellow, although it has since been repainted green and white over the years. This car runs, drives, steers, stops fine. We have not done a comprehensive safety inspection on it, so assume it will have to be towed until checked out. This would be a great candidate to finish up as is, add a 6 cylinder to, or restore back to original, as the price of these early short wheelbase cars keeps climbing. Feel free to ask me any questions or for specific photos before bidding. The car is available for inspection by appointment. Shipping is the responsibility of the buyer. I will work with you and your hauler, and may have some haulers to refer you too, depending on location. Buyer to pay $1000.00 deposit within 48 hours of auction end, by Paypal, cash or certified funds. Balance to be paid within 10 days by cash or certified funds, before car is removed. Car must be picked up within 30 days of auction end, unless other arrangements are made prior to bidding. Low reserve, so bid to win.
