Vehicle Detail

Up for bid is a 1975 BMW 90/6 motorcycle. It is convertible between café style and stock, with only an hours worth of wrenching between the two. Yes...the pictures are of the same motorcycle. To begin with, it is a triple matching numbers bike. The frame number, head badge, and motor number are all the same. I have some limited history on the bike. I've had it a little over a year. Previous to me another local gentleman owned it. He had bought it from someone in Virginia. I have a copy of the Virginia title, with an issue date of 01/17/02. The mileage listed on the Virginia title is 48732. I have no other history than that. When I received the bike it was set up as a café racer. But with a stand-over height of only 29 inches, it was way to low for me (I'm 6'2"). I bought the pieces to bring it back to stock and set it up as 90s style, with the seat fairing and luggage rack. The saddle for the stock style seat is leather. The saddle on the café style is vinyl. Following is a list of work done within the past year...Forks disassembled and rebuilt with fresh oil, the stem disassembled cleaned and packed with fresh grease, transmission removed and clutch inspected, clutch splines properly lubricated, new points, carbs rebuilt, header pipes removed and reattached with proper anti-seize, driveshaft removed inspected and reinstalled with fresh oil, rear drive inspected and oil changed, oil pan removed cleaned and a new gasket installed, starter relay replaced (non-stock), heads retorqued, new clutch cable. I will include a few small spare parts. Included is a Clymer shop manual. All pieces needed for conversion will be included. The bike starts right up, no problem. It does not leak oil (Honest!). I would have no worries about taking it on a long drive, and just a few months ago took it on a 400 mile round trip to the coast and back. Considering that it is a 40 year old motorcycle is in excellent condition. It has been repainted recently, but would best be described as a medium quality job. As a café racer it is ready to go. If you are looking for a candidate for a restoration you wouldn't have far to go. BMW only made this model for 4 years. And only imported them to the US for 3 years (1974, 1975, 1976), so it is a somewhat uncommon model. If you have any question please ask. If you want to arrange an inspection before bidding, no problem. I have additional pictures I can send if you are a serious bidder. The bike will be sold as is, where is. Any shipping is entirely on you to arrange. I cannot assist with loading (health problems). The winning bidder MUST pay $400 within 48 hours of the auction closing, or your bid will be canceled. The balance due before, or at, pickup. Thank you for your interest, and lots of luck bidding.
