Vehicle Detail
Relisting due to non paying buyer!! Please do not bid if you do not intend to purchase!!! Deposit Due within 48 Hours!!! Started as an original California car. 10 years ago complete suspension and rear axles were taken off, inspected for rust (none found) cleaned, painted and put back. Wheel wells were also cleaned and coated. Interior is all original. I do have a complete new carpet set to go with only because the original is faded. There are a couple of small cracks on the dash, but it is covered with a carpeted dash covering. Rag top is fully functioning, but has shrunken due to the California heat. Will only leak if you are washing the car and spraying it sideways. I would recommend buying a new one. They still make it. Engine is a 2 liter ABA block that came out of a newer Jetta with 40k miles on it. The head was one of the last new old stock 8 valve hydraulic head from the dealer (not rebuilt, but new). Almost every possible bolt on upgrade was installed. Larger throttle body, K&N filter, Synthetic Oil Only!! All new gaskets throughout. 5 qt. oil pan with baffle. Rebuilt transmission, can't remember the number, but it has 4 close gears and a long 5th. The shifter bushings were all replaced both inside and out with a weighted shift rod. Dual fan multi speed larger radiator. High output alternator. Disc Brakes all around. Vented fronts. Newer MK4 calipers in the rear. Braided brake lines. New Brake cylinder. Nuespeed sway bars front and rear, stress bars on top, bottom and in the rear trunk. All new polyurethane bushings throughout except front engine mount (was too rough) new OEM one was put in instead. Wheels are Hayashi Racing Fins ( HRE). Very rare only have seen one other set around years back. One of the lightest sets you will come across. It is a 2 piece wheel staggered in the rear. Tires are BF Goodrich in good shape. Please don’t ask. I will not sell them separately. They would go for over $2k-$3k alone. Depending on price I do have a ton of rare parts that can also go with the sale of the car. Like a new in the box complete Zender body kit, etc…but this listing is for the car in its present state. It does have Washington State collector plates on there now (no tabs to buy), if you are local. I am sure I am forgetting half of the things done to this car. I personally would be confident enough to drive it anywhere. Always starts on first try. NO RUST! All electronics work. Except the dome light pin is a little touchy. Nakamichi cd player and amp, Bazooka 8" etc This car is a true survivor. Engine and transmission is not original. I have owned it for over 10 years. Only want to sell it to the right person. Please don’t waste my time! I have a perfect feed back score and want to keep it that way. Last 2 pictures were taken today. The bumper is not faded, just needs some detailing. Car is really dusty. It has just been sitting in storage. Picture was taken with the engine running, no smoke of any kind. did pass emissions with flying colors a few years back before the collector plates were bought. If you want any specific pictures I can also take them and send them in high def. thanks
