Vehicle Detail
CONDITION: This is a great car with super-low mileage because it was owned by an elderly couple who rarely drove it and kept it perfectly maintained. This one-family-owned vehicle has had an excellent record of maintenance, as shown on sample receipts. The oil was changed regularly by professionals, and all recommended maintenance was done by professionals at the appropriate times. The car was stored inside a closed garage for 18 years, and it was only stored outside for the summer of 2015, which is when the vandalism unfortunately occurred. ALL OF THE PHOTOS OF THE CAR SHOWN IN THE EBAY LISTING WERE TAKEN AFTER THE VANDALISM REPAIRS WERE DONE (EXCEPT THE LAST PHOTO, WHICH SHOWS THE SMOKE PRIOR TO THE FIRE BEING EXTINGUISHED). TO BE PERFECTLY CLEAR, WE ARE NOT POSTING PHOTOS OF THE CAR PRIOR TO THE VANDALISM, SO WHAT YOU SEE IN THE PHOTOS IS WHAT THE CAR LOOKS LIKE TODAY, WITH THE "NEW" BACK SEAT AND SEAT BELTS REPLACEMENTS. TIRES:I checked the top of each tire. When a quarter is inserted into the tread, the top of Washington's head is about even with the tread, so according to the Goodyear Auto Service website, that means the tires have about 4/32 inch of tread remaining, which is considered "Good": Here's how to assess your tread depth:Quarter TestInsert a quarter into your tread groove. If the tread touches Washington's head, you have at least 4/32 inch of tread remaining. 4/32" or deeper Good3/32" Replace Tires Soon2/32" or less Replace Tires Now MAJOR MAINTENANCE DONE: Major maintenance done on 03/25/2013 by Honda Dealer: * Honda Dealer Installed new SRS (airbag) Control Unit to normal specs and operation -- $610.00 (see receipt)* Honda Dealer Replaced Timing Belt Package with Water Pump -- $1035.35 (see receipt) Replaced Valve Cover Gasket, Tube Seals and Spark Plugs Replaced Timing Belt, External Belts and Water Pump Replaced Leaking Valve Cover Gasket, Tube Seals, Spark Plugs, and Corrected Operations to Specs to Normal Operations.* Total maintenance done by Honda Dealer on 03/25/2013 $1737.88 (see receipt) Major maintenance done on 02/18/2014 by Jiffy Lube:* Jiffy Lube did the 68,000 maintenance, including Fuel System, Power Steering, Radiator, Transmission, and Signature Oil Change (see receipt). HISTORY;Vehicle was purchased brand-new at Don Carlton Honda in Tulsa, Oklahoma on 08/24/1996. Vehicle currently has less than 80,000 miles. One owner -- an elderly couple who kept the car extremely well-maintained by professionals (see maintenance receipts from Honda Dealer and Jiffy Lube). Car has never been in an accident. Dent in front left from grocery basket rolling into car (see photos). Wear and tear on interior and exterior consistent with age. On 21 July 2015 a vandal entered the car (accidentally left unlocked), and burned the back seat with the cigarette lighter. The burned area was extinguished immediately upon discovery. The damaged back seat and back left panel were entirely removed and discarded, and a matching replacement back seat, seat belts, and panel were installed. The interior of the car was entirely cleaned on all surfaces, including the vinyl and the upholstery. There is a lingering fragrance of the upholstery cleaners mixed with a slight aroma of smoke, and a small area of heat damage to the back left ceiling area. Since the vandalism occurred on 21 July 2015, the cleaning and airing out of the car have caused the aroma of the smoke and upholstery cleaners to diminish significantly over time. We had intended to drive this car another 100,000+ miles until the vandalism happened. While we were cleaning up this car, we purchased another car to drive to work, which is why we are selling this one. Photos are part of description. Please ask questions prior to bidding. Since the vandalism occurred on 21 July 2015, the cleaning and airing out of the car have caused the aroma of the smoke and upholstery cleaners to diminish significantly over time. We called this our "Cream Puff Car" and intended to keep this car for another 100,000+ miles. We were crushed and heartsick when we saw the senseless vandalism. While we were determining how to deal with the vandalism and cleaning up this car, we had to purchase another car to drive to work, which is the reason we are selling this one. Please ask questions prior to bidding. If you need special arrangements for pickup, please message us prior to bidding.
