Vehicle Detail

1996 Ford F350 4x4 Powerstroke Diesel, all stock except for 3" turbo downpipe and modified cat, never had a performance chip, 293860 original miles, zero rust, only a couple dings to the body, runs and drives very well for the miles and still has plenty of pulling power. Nice cold A/C, and goes down the road nice and quiet. Glow plug relay, glow plugs, glow plug/injector harnesses, valve cover harness/gaskets, engine side injector harness pins/sleeve connectors, front rotors/pads, wheel bearings, tie rod ends, drag link ends have all been replaced within the last 2000 miles, and the front end aligned. Transmission was overhauled 14,000 miles ago (almost 4 years ago) by a local transmission shop to tow matrix specs with a full kit including a billet multi-disc heavy duty tow converter and kevlar plates from Transmission Exchange, Also replaced pump, complete forward drum and center support while it was apart. Also replaced shift tube, bushings, shift lever, O/D switch & cap when transmission was rebuilt. Axles have 4:10 gears with limited slip in rear, previous owner had a light duty goose neck hitch in the bed which is no longer there, so there is a 10"x12" hole in bed floor, I have put in a drop in plastic bedliner for safety and usability. The tires are lt285/75R16 with 24,000 miles on them and they will need replaced before winter. The bad news-the upper bearings in the steering column are shot, so the steering wheel has some wobble to it. The transmission will no longer upshift automatically into 2nd gear on its own, all other transmission functions work just fine. I just have to shift down from D into 2 when accelerating from a stop then shift back up to D. Since it has been longer than the shops warranty period it is not covered. I have driven the truck like this for the last 3,000 miles with no further trouble. Transmission shop says it's probably something sticking in the valve body, and the bearings to repair the steering column are less than $50. But I no longer need the truck, so now someone has a chance to get a good deal on a solid reliable truck that needs just a couple minor fixes.
