Vehicle Detail

1968 Mustang Sprint B coupe Originally Gulfstream Aqua with Black interior, C4 Automatic and Power steering. Marti Report shows it as 1 of 213 produced in the spring of 68’ with this paint and trim code. It has obviously been repainted red some time ago. If you are unaware of what the Sprint package was, here is a description from Mustangs and Fords.com; “With minimal change to the '68 Mustang, Ford upped the ante for the '68 Sprint by offering two packages for its "See the Light Sale" in the spring of 1968. Sprint Package A was available for six-cylinder and V-8 models, adding C-shaped side stripes, wheel lip moldings, full wheel covers, and a pop-open gas cap. Package B was for V-8s only, utilizing the components from Package A but replacing the wheel covers with Styled Steel wheels and adding grille-mounted fog lights”. This particular car has all the options mentioned above, (with the exception of the GT hub caps instead of the correct smooth caps which can be purchased for less than $150 a set), plus it has the rare optional bench seat. The engine and transmission were just removed, spotlessly cleaned and painted along with the engine compartment. Many new parts were replaced before the engine and transmission were re-installed. Here is a partial list; starter, radiator, all hoses, valve covers, gaskets, air cleaner, distributer, wires, cap, etc. The intake has been upgraded to a period correct cast iron 4v with a rebuilt factory Autolite 4300a carburetor (441 cfm). The exhaust manifolds were sandblasted and painted with (3) coats of high temperature paint. I replaced the transmission cooling lines, filter, and gasket. This car is extremely clean underneath. It has had a small patch on the passengers front floor pan. It looks as though the person that did the job cared about doing it right and re seam sealed everything on both sides of the floor pans. The rest of the floors, frame rails, torque boxes, and trunk floors are super clean. I just finished scraping, wire wheeling, priming and spraying (4) coats of era correct spatter paint to the inside of the trunk compartment. The master cylinder and brakes on the car are all new as are the tires, dash pad(Installed after this ad was placed), carpet and sill plates. The rest of the interior is very nice. On the exterior, the car needs normal body repair/ body work and a paint job. Some of the chrome needs replacing and or polishing in some cases. All the glass is in good condition. The engine runs smooth and the transmission shifts nicely with no slipping. It has fresh engine oil and filter, ATF, antifreeze and power steering fluid. I would feel comfortable driving this car daily. I have a clear title in hand. All original VIN numbers are on the car and match the title as they should. This is a rare Mustang which needs little work. Good luck bidding!
