Vehicle Detail
1978 Volkswagen Convertible Beetle project car. Car has been disassembled and is ready for restoration or to be used for parts. I put all the fenders, hoods, top, doors, top back on for pictures.I have a 1600 dual port block that needs rebuilt that comes wit the car. Transmission is stilled installed. Has nice new seat covers and top and headliner are in decent shape. Notice in the picture the rear of the top has a cable hanging out that may go under the lip of the frame. There appears to be much interest in the top itself, the convertible top frame - latches appear to be in good shape.Worst rust spot is in the trunk. Has all the glass except the front windshield. Previous owner completely disassembled the car to restore. I planned to do the same as well as convert the car to water cooled which i have a donor car for as well that i will sell separately but have moved on to other projects. Have the Ohio title for the car. Tried to upload more pictures but only allowed 12. Any questions please ask or call 937-272-6393 On Aug-28-15 at 19:59:52 PDT, seller added the following information: I have received many questions regarding the top, finding out that you cannot buy the frames new anymore - so I went out tonight and inspected the top. Other than the wire hanging out the rear that appears to hold it onto the body??? there is 1 1/4 " blemish in the left rear of the top. Inside there is a half inch slice above the rear window but other than that it looks very good. Probably would look very good with a good cleaning. The stitching on the top side is all intact and the closure assembly is in working condition. There are 2 snaps on the rear that are missing but i'm guessing those can be replaced. If this bug was taken and sandblasted down to bare metal it would give a better representation to the actual condition. As mentioned, the trunk has the worst spot of rust. The floors and heater channels are good as far as I can tell and the usual spots like under the rear fenders look good. Door jambs are not rusted out. If i can send pictures in the questions section I will do that as requested
