Up for auction 1978 1.6 ltr. 4 speed manuel transmission, 4 door sedan rebuilt engine and clutch, new shocks, new tires, new battery. I am 3rd owner, my aunt bought the car from her boss in 1982 who bought the car in Germany 1978. I purchased the car from my aunt in 1991. The car was on blocks for 9 8yrs and gaskets failed. The engine was rebuilt in 2000 by Santa Monica VW at 84,000 car now has 1140,000 original miles. 56,000 on rebuild. Oil changed every 5000 I have all receipts and records. I put in studed wing windows and all new rubber around windows and doors. car is in Show Room Condition. I have to sell this car due to health issues. This car runs like a top, starts every time first crank. Gets up to 55mpg. Everything works. Buyer is responsible for all shipping arrangements or local pick up in Santa Monica where the car has been garaged. This car has been in California since 1982. Clean title in hand. On Aug-22-15 at 22:37:47 PDT, seller added the following information: sadly noticed new oil leak at oil filter flange mountjust had oil changed 1month ago didn't leak before. (Jiffy Lube My parts)i have the gasket but haven't the energy to put it in. (yet) not leaking real bad but it is.also fan switch for ventilation is out or is resistor can't be bothered I've sourced the switch but haven't really checked it out diagnose used to work really good. to be honest i have driven this car only 3-5 times a year since 2011 so I'm now finding little things that aren't as they should be, nothing serious but in all honesty id rather you knowFYI late update
