Normal 0 false false false EN-US JA X-NONE No Reserve!! 1992 Chevy Cheyenne 1500 W/T 4x4 Pick-Up Solid 4.3L V6 Engine Auto Transmission Runs great! No frills, simple, honest truck Clear Title Nice Stereo and 600 Watt Amp Eligible for cheap historic registration and insurance This truck has not been MD State Inspected, so it can only be sold to a non-Maryland resident. Please read the description fully and ensure that you can meet the obligations of this auction before bidding. As is stated above, this is a NO RESERVE auction for a 1992 Chevy 1500 W/T 4x4 Pick-up truck. This truck runs well, and is just an all-around great, simple, honest pick-up, the likes of which is almost never seen today. It does have power steering and an automatic transmission, but other than that it’s manual windows, manual mirrors, manual locks, no A/C, no cruise control, rubber flooring instead of carpets, etc. I’m not even sure that it came with a radio, but an aftermarket one has been installed. It’s like a farm tractor, all practicality and virtually no fluff. There are no messy, complicated computer systems, no DVD players, Sat-Nav, BlueTooth, heated back-massaging seats and other flashy electronic wonders that will all be obsolete, broken, and too expensive to repair in 6 - 7 years time. This is the last of the simple trucks that will likely run forever, and that you can still work on and fix yourself if something goes wrong. That’s the beauty of it. The 4.3L V6 is well known for its reliability, and its long history of use by GM means parts are readily available from stores and junkyards, and are cheap. The engine in this truck runs very well. Oil pressure is great, and it does not overheat or have blow-by. There is a little puff of blue smoke when you first start the engine, but that’s about all I’ve seen. Though it is a V6, the truck has plenty of grunt, and will get up and go when you put your foot down. It looks like the alternator has been replaced recently. The automatic transmission has overdrive and shifts up and down through all of the gears normally. The 4WD system works, and has Hi and Lo settings. The suspension feels solid, it is not bouncy or full of rattles like a lot of older trucks. The brakes are strong. There is an exhaust leak where the pipe has broken at the weld behind the catalytic converter, so it is a bit loud at the moment. The interior of this truck is about as basic as you can get, but is in decent shape for the age. The upholstery on the seat is in good shape, with one small tear on the edge of the driver’s side. The seats are supportive and have minimal staining. The flooring is just rubber with rubber heavy duty mats on top. The dash top has a few imperfections, and is missing one speaker grill. The heater works. There is no A/C option. There are no airbags. A nice Sony stereo with CD player, AUX and USB has been installed, with 4 aftermarket speakers. There is a 600 watt amp mounted behind the seat, but the subwoofer is gone. Windows, mirrors and locks are manual. The door handle on the driver’s door is missing its plastic cover. “Custom” cup holders have been man-stalled on each door. All of the dash gauges work. There are no warning lights showing on the dash. The exterior of this truck is pretty solid. Underneath there appears to be only the normal surface rust on the frame. The cab mounts all look good. There is some body rust along the bottoms of both doors. A cheap re-spray has been done, so the truck looks good from 20 feet away, but imperfections and the cheapness of the paint job are easily visible up close. The upside is that you can drive it through the woods or take it to the grocery store and run shopping carts into it all day and it doesn’t matter. Just pick up a can of red spray paint on your way home. A set of 16” GMC wheels with Goodyear Wrangler tires has been fitted, and there is plenty of tread on all 4. The wipers and exterior lights all work. The bed has a spray-on liner that is wearing off, but otherwise looks good. Whether you are looking for a work truck or just a vehicle to keep around the house for yard work, dump runs, and snow driving, this 4x4 will fit the bill. It is a simple, no frills truck, and should last a long time if taken care of properly. Someone with average DIY mechanic skills should be able to do all maintenance and repairs as needed. Parts are readily available and cheap. This truck is more than 20 years old, so it is also eligible for cheap historic registration and insurance. I have been driving this truck regularly for about 2 months, and it has been great. I wouldn’t hesitate to jump in it and drive across the country, it’s been A-OK for me on country roads, suburban streets and high-speed, busy highways. This is an old truck, so despite its simplicity, it will require maintenance and repairs from time to time, that’s just part of owning a used vehicle. If you want a perfect truck, please go to a new car dealership and lay out the money for a new one. If you don’t mind an older truck that is good, but isn’t perfect, you’d be hard pressed to find a better example. I have identified all of the flaws that I have found on this truck, there may be others that I have not found, so please read the description thoroughly, examine all of the pictures and then come see / drive the truck in person before you decide to bid. I welcome bidders to come check out this truck, just please give me at least 24 hours notice that you want to come so that I can adjust my busy schedule. I am open to offers made through Ebay in accordance with Ebay policy, and reserve the right to cancel the auction if an offer is accepted, however, offers must be made before the last day of the auction. I will not sell the truck out from under the winning bidder if offers are made on the final day or after the auction has finished.
