Vehicle Detail
You are bidding on the best preserved 1974 Road Runner available on the market. This is a numbers matching, unmolested car with the numbers matching optional 440 HP engine. The car has been Govier documented and is listed in the Chrysler Registry as No. 27 of 29 built in the St Louis, MO plant with the 440HP engine option. BodyThis is a southern car, the floors and underside are excellent with no rust and no sign of patchwork. The body is extremely straight, paint is excellent, vinyl top and trim are excellent. This does not have the GTX labeling as was prevalent on most '74 Road Runners due to the addition of the Road Runner appearance package and the Coupe option vs. Hardtop - Rear windows are fixed and do not roll down. The car was also ordered with the reflective stripe kit option InteriorStock white interior is in excellent condition including the carpet, door panels, headliner, dashboard, and rear package shelf. All gauges except the clock work, however; it works twice a day.All dash lights and interior lights are functional as are the fender mounted turnsignal indicators. The car is equipped with A/C which does blow cold. Engine / DrivetrainThis car was order with the optional 440HP engine with 4-bbl Carter carburetor. All numbers match production dates and the build sheet confirms the ordering codes for the equipment included on this Road Runner. The 727 transmission is the only number that can't be confirmed as original to the vehicle. The rearend is a 3.21 Suregrip Posi unit with sway bar. The underhood is clean and nicely detailed, no fear of opening up the hood and being embarrassed by the appearance. The car runs and drives excellent, pulling hard through all the gears. The transmission shifts as it should and is equipped with a shift kit. Tires are like new and ride on stock Mopar wheels. The car is also for sale locally so I reserve the right to end the auction early. If you are bidding you must have a minimum of 3 positive feedbacks with no negative feedback.
