Vehicle Detail
Up for bid is a 1984 Chevrolet K30 Single rear wheel pickup. This is a factory 1 ton 4x4 equipped with the original 454 and 4 speed manual transmission. This is a super clean Western Colorado survivor with less than 49,000 original miles and I am the third owner. It has been stored indoors in Colorado its whole life when it wasn't driven until I bought it and brought it to Illinois earlier this year. The gentleman I purchased it from had owned it since 1987 and took excellent care of it. This truck was purchased new at Luby Chevrolet in Denver, Co and it comes with plenty of paperwork including warranty papers, owner books and a receipt when it was purchased new for $20,743 before trade in. Some of the factory options include 454 engine, Silverado package, AM/FM stereo that still works great, air conditioning that works great and it converted to 134a already, tow hooks, dual tanks, transfer case skid plate, and many more. The tag is still on the drivers fender well that lists them all. This truck is about as clean and original as you will find. It was repainted under warranty I was told by the previous owner, before he bought it. This color of blue was bad about flaking off early on. All that was done was the exterior. The door jams, under hood, and bed still retain the original paint. The paint is faded, but it may be possible to polish it, and it does have minor chips and scratches as you would expect. But it does retain all the original sheet metal and is rust free. It had diamond plate bed caps on it when I bought it. I removed them to show that tops of the bed are not all beat up. But there are some wear marks left from them. The 454 engine runs very strong, The heads were upgraded many years ago. The previous owner told me he had a pair of factory GM oval port heads professionally rebuilt and installed on it and a quality pair of headers to improve power. After I bought it I sent the factory 800cfm Quadrajet to SMI in California to be rebuilt. This truck came from the factory with 4.56 gears but the second owner replaced them with 4.10s for better highway driving. The interior is in excellent original condition and needs nothing besides the headliner needs glued back up. Other than that it is near perfect. It retains the factory AM/FM cassette, and has never been cut for any aftermarket radios or speakers. I don't believe it has any extra holes drilled in the dash anywhere other than a brake controller and it is mounted under the dash. It is sitting on brand new 305/70R16 Toyo open country M/T tires and Wheel Vintiques 16x8 steel wheels along with the original hubcaps that are in excellent condition. I have the stock wheels as well. I also added Skyjacker 2.5" soft ride front springs to level the front out and clear the tires better. The tires don't rub and nothing has been cut. Underneath the truck the original spare is still intact and has never been used. It also retains the original dual exhaust tail pipes that it left the factory with. The mufflers have been changed to long glass packs, and sounds very good but not too loud. It does have a plate under the bed and a small hole in the bed for a hitch ball that is with the truck, along with an rv plug in the bed. Overall this is a very nice original truck that runs and drives great and everything works good. This is a rare find, I searched a long time for this truck and I hate to let it go. I recently took it on a 4 hour round trip drive and it performed flawlessly. Feel free to call with any question or to come look at it.
