Vehicle Detail
Photos provide better detail, but this is a project that will take time. Every spare part that I bought for the car comes with it including the pictured books (including the invaluable shop manual). There is a lot of body work required for this car as there is some scrunched sheet metal and quite a bit of rust. You can see where the previous owner tried to fix the passenger rear quarter panel (a little proper welding and grinding should take care of that). The floor pans need replaced (I have new ones), upholstery needs new. It looks like the car was in a fender bender before I got it (scrunched rear driver quarter panel). Driver side shock tower was replaced by previous owner and booger welded in (I have new shock tower and support bracket). Passenger fender apron needs replaced in addition to battery tray (I have both), likely both aprons on the passenger side need replaced due to rust (pictured). Front frame rails have rust through in couple spots (pictured, except spot just behind driver shock tower that is about a quarter in size), but otherwise solid. Rear window is not sealed in (I have weather striping for it). I have an original dash pad that I bought 5-10 years ago (in really great condition, pictured) that comes with it. I am also including the photographed books, including the shop manual, which is invaluable for working on the car. The car does run, but has not been driven for several years. There is a leak in a radiator hose and the transmission pan is leaking due to a poor gasket seal. Engine is 200 i6, ran well with 3-speed auto transmission. Last weekend a friend brought one of his friends to look at the car and it turned great and even fired with a little ether (it hadn't been started for several years before). This is not a small project, but I believe that with a lot of work this will be a great car. I am selling it as is, with no reserve, because we are moving across town and I have nowhere to store at our new house, and the fact that in the nearly 20 years I have owned it I have made small progress. I hate to get rid of it, but it has got to go to somebody who can take proper care of it. Payment can be made through PayPal or with cash, I cannot deliver it, nor will it be shipped unless the buyer pays up front and arranges for the shipping himself. Needs to be picked up from Newport News, VA by end of August, though with prior agreement I MIGHT be able to store it at the new place for a short period of time (NOTE: if stored at new house it will be outside on the driveway and is currently not weather tight). NOTE: The title is clear, but with a small issue. It has both my name and my father's name listed on it. My father passed away a few years ago so he cannot sign it over. I called Missouri DMT (it was titled in MO) and they said this is not a problem as long as when the buyer gets a new title he/she has a death certificate for my father. I am in the process of receiving a death certificate from MO (anyone can get one for $10) and it should be here by the time you pick it up.
