Hello! Thanks for checking out my '82 Diesel VW Westfalia. The van is almost completely original, including the notoriously underpowered Rabbit Diesel engine. The vehicle runs and drives, but does consume some oil. There are rust spots around the perimeter of the vehicle. Brand new battery. Indeed, the van is a great candidate for an engine swap! There is an excellent MS Word document that outlines the steps involved in swapping the little Rabbit Diesel for a Jetta AAZ Diesel.
