Vehicle Detail

Rare 1984 Mercedes Euro Market 500SL. This car was imported to the US in '84 with 1151 kilometers (760 miles) and now has about 116K total miles on it. It has had 2 owners, the 2nd owner was a friend of the 1st. The car is a little on the scruffy side but runs and drives excellent. It also has some rare options for a Euro car, including heated seats, power windows, AC (works great) and driver's SRS airbag. I have 49 photos below, look for my text descriptions that accompany the photos, I'll describe the good and the bad. No accident history, clean and clear Oregon title. Please ask questions before bidding and be ready to buy if you're the high bidder, let's no waste either one's time. No reserve auction, the car sells to the high bidder. $500 deposit via paypal within 24hrs and balance due within one week. I can help with shipping arrangements. Thanks for looking, email with any questions. The car has had one repaint in its original color of Lapis Blue. It's decent paint but has lots of chips, flaking and scratches. Some careful touchup and an afternoon of buffing could bring it up a level. The body is very straight with no dents and the bumpers are in good shape. Toyo Proxes 225/50-R16 tires are in good shape. The wheels are aftermarket Centras, unusual to find them in this 16" size. The electric antenna works in tandem with the Becker radio. Grill is missing one wing and one of the driving light lenses needs to be replaced. The lower grill and air dam are in good shape with no damage. The soft top is in good condition with no holes or tears. The hardtop is in good condition as well. All of the glass is original and in good shape, although the windshield has one small chip Some nicks and scrapes from mounting the hardtop. The ugliness seen here is limited to surface scale, it hasn't gone through to the other side. Undercarriage photos are show further below. Original brochures and manuals. Original EPA paperwork The interior is not terrible but not great either. The driver's seat back has the most wear. Original vacuum leveling system for the Euro headlights, too bad they got rid of them at importation. All gauges work except for the clock. No warning lights are lit while driving. Power windows both work, as well as the heated seats feature. Becker radio works. Climate control works correctly and the A/C blows good and cold. Dash has a split near the defrost vent, otherwise pretty nice. The end of the soft-top compartment release lever has broken off. Still works. Taped over tear on top of the door panel. So if you're still interested here's the best part: The car runs great. Fires right off and runs strongly with no smoke. Moves through the gears smoothly and has lots of power. Not a leaker. Tracks staight, brakes well, handles well, runs cool, overall a nice driving car. Very nice undercarriage with no rust issues or signs of damage. Recent flex-disc replacement front and rear. Exhaust is sound. So all in all a rare Euro market SL with good bones that's cosmetically challenged. No reserve. Bid to own.
