Vehicle Detail
This is a relisting of a vehicle pulled from auction to investigate an issue that was presumed repaired. All details below, apologies to any previous bidders. I want you to know what you're getting!A great TDI devotee's car! 2003 VW Jetta TDI Wagon, GLS trim, 45MPG, heated leather seats, sun/moon roof, premium sound, 5 speed, original owner, well maintained, have full service history, 2 sets of good tires with wheels (snow and all season). Front fenders and hatchback recently replaced under VW rust warranty. No accidents, clear title. Still running strong @ 236k miles. This is a reliable, efficient, comfortable ride that's ready to roll. Obviously, the car has a long history and a few issues. It will need some attention if you want to get another 250k out of it, or just drive it as-is. Here are the issues I know about, and that you should know about before buying: Right side mirror snapped off the bracket. Fully functional electric movement, but should be replaced.Drivers door handle finicky from the outside#4 glowplug is dead and stuck in head. Car always starts though, even at -20F (and without a block heater!)Undercoating peeling from rockers, some surface rust beginning to form, no rust-through that I'm aware of.E-brake needs adjusting from the wheel side (it engages but doesn't hold well, cable maxed out at lever end)Belt squeals intermittently when wetOccasionally goes into limp mode at ~2500 RPM triggering OBDC code PO234 "engine overboost". "Occasionally" means: will be fine for weeks, then suddenly goes into limp repeatedly all day. Re-starting clears the problem, but not the code.Car is sold as-is, no warranty. Buyer is responsible for full payment within 5 days of sale. Buyer is responsible for arranging and paying for pickup and delivery.Feel free to email with any questions
