Vehicle Detail

Feel free to contact me about a trade. In addition to here, the Mustang is for sale or trade locally and this ad may be ended at any time. This is a Super Rare True Steeda Built Foxbody Mustang. A notchback on top of that! I believe this is the first year that Steeda was building cars right from Ford with their blessing. The car sat for awhile and the dash plaque is faded and hard to read but it is most likely either #7 or 17 but when the at an angle you can read Engineered by Steeda Motorspots Inc. and Mustang along the top. I included a sketch of the plaque because you can actually read most of it with the right light but the camera will not get it. This was supposedly the dealer floor model and I'm told the original buyer bought it off the floor instead of placing an order. I could not find out for sure but it seems there were only 78 Steeda Mustangs built that year and almost all of them were 5 speed hatchbacks. This is almost certainly the only automatic notchback. Far fewer than Saleen, Roush or SVT put out. The car needs some work and I was planning on restoring it but unfortunately funds for that will not be available for some time. I am not sure what happened to the front but the title and history are clean and the way you see it is the way it came to me. It is very fast and I drive it regularly so the miles will go up. I originally wanted to trade it for another Mustang that is not as rare, but is in better condition. After seeing the response to the ad, and the offers I received I thought it would be best to put it here. Hopefully to get it into the hands of someone who will restore it to the way it should be. If it does not sell soon I will gladly keep it and it will remain ugly until next year when I can make her pretty again. Even though everyone who has looked at it have no question it is exactly what it is, a true Steeda built foxbody, you are more than welcome to come check it out for yourself before the end of the auction and BEFORE placing a bid. While Steeda did not keep great records back then, each person I spoke with was completely confident its the real thing. If you have any questions, or would like additional photos do not hesitate to let me know. I am not a mechanic in the slightest so use laymen terms with your questions. lol If anyone has additional information on these cars please share and I will share it here. I am in Pennsylvania and just contact me if you would like to come look at the car or send someone on your behalf. The car is for sale or trade locally also. Some info on the car:The Not So Good:Front fenders were not put back on properly and need to be lined up correctlySome rattles (like a lot of foxbodies) so things could probably use a tighteningPossible alignment as I drive it daily and noticed some tire wearHood tricky to shut but does so securely. Another occasional stang thing. Needs body work and paint. A couple very small spots of surface rust but nothing big or major.Overdrive not working. Not sure why but all the others are fine just getting kind of soft. Door handle on driver side needs new bolt/rivet and inside handle. It stills work though. Ugly..needs some body work. The front clip is black but I'm told it's original. Passenger inside door panel needs popped back on fully. Didn't even notice it for months. lolSteeda Dash Plaque faded can read all but two numbers. Top of the back seat is faded from when it sat awhile. The Good:Super rare, one of 78 built that yearTry and find another (if you do please share I want to check it out)Notchbacks are hard enough to come across on their own.Clean title and vehicle history.Owner's book with notes from Steeda in the back. Including an opinion from Kenny Brown. Polaroid photo of the car probably from when the original owner brought it home. You can see Steeda oval over the 5.0 on the fender, original wheels and window Banner too. Really fast. This car will really fly. No rust on frame, strut towers, door bottoms, fenders or floors. Trunk lid has very minimal surface rust and nothing anywhere goes through.Interior in pretty good shape. Could use a tightening up, but nothing major, split or broken. Top of back seat is faded some. Starts right up every time. I commuted 30+ miles to Harrisburg and drive to Philly on occasion. Ford AOD8.8 Posi Rear 3.73 GearsSteeda built Engine, Exhaust & Suspension including sub-frame connectors. GT 40 Tubular Upper and lower Intake. (I was told this was a Steeda tubular intake and was shorter than a normal GT-40 intake. I have no idea though as I'm not a mechanic or expert)75mm Throttle BodyMild CamCold air IntakeAC Delete (pulley rattles a little sometimes but is tight)Electric Fan with toggle130 degree thermostat. Put a higher one back in if you want heat. Trans CoolerStainless Exhaust w/catsSet of Original Prime Rims w/3 Center caps (They need repair but are original to the car from Steeda.)Set of Pony RimsCool Steeda Heavy Metal Body builder etched into both quarter windows. Both signed "Alison 92"Clarion CD Player with RemoteExtra set of new window motors included. They are both still working but one is a little slow. Was being proactive. Pennsylvania Inspected until 6/15. If I end up keeping it I expect it will pass easy. Maybe brake pads. It had no issue passing Pa. safety & emissions last year. The Ashtray door is original and still works!!! That is pretty much all I know about the car. It may need other things and Steeda may have done additional work to it, I don't know. Again, if you have any questions or need more photos just let me know. Contact me if you have any questions or would like to come see it BEFORE placing a bid. Thanks for checking it out!!
