Vehicle Detail
This may be lengthy so please bare with me. I was lied to, yes right here on Ebay, when I bought it and I want to be as straight forward as I can be. I have bought and sold here on Ebay since 1995 many cars and parts and this is the one that GOT ME. I am 64, not able to do the work I used to and was not looking for such a project. When I bought the car it had a "new" paint job that supposedly just needed sanding and buffing. It needed a new top and the front seats were covered with plastic bags (I knew that part) along with exhaust (not known). I expected the usual stuff to go along with it. Well the paint was beyond sanding and buffing. It blew off with a low pressure, pressure washer. Also when it arrived on the transporter I could see the seller neglected to mention the rear quarters had some Bondo Love, not terrible but not unnoticeable. After I made all the repairs (I will describe below) I see and ad for a moderately priced paint job. Keep in mind, I am pissed and out of love with the car at the time, and bring it in for some body work and paint. Needless to say it did not go well. I had him redo it a second time it was that bad. Now, after the second time, it still isn't the best but presentable and had already taken a whole summer. It still could use some sanding and buffing. So, I spent days buffing it because I am scared to sand it. It is much better but still only driver quality paint and body. Needs wet sanding and good buffing. Here is what was done: - floors had rust spot cut out and welded metal and sealed. - seats- driver foam and all springs repaired, front and rear new seat skins. - carpet and padding replaced - new dash cap and woodgrain - new convertible top, pads, and glass rear window. Rear window well is original with some old water stains in the trunk side. - new top hydraulic cylinders - new rear coil springs, 4 gas shocks, brakes and rear lines. - new fuel pump, starter, water pump, correct 2 bl. carb. (old one was scabbed on), full tune up. - all new weather stripping on the top and trunk with new floor pad. - 4 Wheels and new tires and new fender well moldings. - New dual exhaust - lots of other incidentals What it may or may not need depending on you needs. Door window rubbers, radio works (not original and not too good). Windshield has crack as shown, up driver side far left. Bumpers are fair. Gas gauge was working but stopped, may be ground. All other gauges seem to operate. AC is present, it has a leak but compressor is not seized. Heat works well. I actually believe the mileage is accurate. Runs very good, no smoke or noises, partial documentation of mileage from old service receipts. Would make a real good clone candidate. I believe my reserve is fair, not making money on this one, believe me. I will listen to HONEST OFFERS. I will not reply to lowballers. Apparently only 2400 1969 Lemans Custom S's were made. So I guess it may be rare. Zero feedback bidders will be canceled. No bidders with less than 5 feedbacks without contacting me first. $500 Non-refundable deposit, full payment within 7 days. I will assist with loading as best I can. Ask questions if you have any. I'm sure I may have left things out.
