I have been driving this car with its many pesky issues for 10 years, until the ABS light came on two weeks ago. That's when my husband said "Enough!" and got me a new one. The door locks no longer respond to the key, the air conditioning needs fixing (leak), the plastic underparts need to be replaced, the inside cloth "ceiling" is sagging, the cruise control has been slipping, the control knob for the side mirrors is broken, the heated seat for the driver is erratic, the middle defrost line in the rear view window no longer heats, the dog dug some holes in the rear cushions, somebody stole the "T" from the "TDI" logo... The turbo probably needs cleaning, although I just had the vane actuator changed. The tires are 2 years old, I had the front tie rods and bearings replaced last summer, the clutch and master cylinder were rebuilt in 2013. The timing belt was changed at 126,000 miles. The bumpers have a couple of dings (superficial), there are some rust spots over two of the wheel wells, as well as some chipped paint along the edge of the trunk. The hood has a few paint chips (white) from gravel hits. The mud flaps would benefit from new fasteners. The windows have no tint; nobody ever smoked in it. I am the third owner of this car. It was purchased new in Texas, then sold to a woman in Rhode Island who sold it to me in 2005, with 76,000 miles on it. This is its second eBay auction! It needs a good de-linting and a deep clean inside and out, but overall, it is still in great shape. I used it to commute locally, and then to drive to Montreal and back (750 miles) about 5 times a year. It has never left me stranded! And it still runs very well. Its MA inspection sticker is valid until October 2015. I have one electronic key (doesn't work) and one spare. It has additional VW rubber mats throughout. I expect the buyer to deposit $500 via PayPal within 24 hours of the close of the auction. I also expect the buyer to have paid the amount in full within 72 hours of the end of the auction. I kept the plates for my new car, so a test drive is no longer an option. I don't mind helping with arrangements for transport, but the buyer pays for everything.
