2003 Honda CBR1100XX Blackbird 1803 Miles,   One Owner, Excellent Condition, NO RESERVE           Please scroll down below the description to see all 45 high resolution pictures. Up for bid is an outstanding 2003 Honda CBR1100XX Super Blackbird motorcycle.  This, like-new, Honda only has 1,803 miles on the clock and is a one owner gem. The owner of this sport-tourer is an accomplished, 70-year-old motorcycle aficionado and collector who I regard as a motorcycle mentor and expert. He has taken impeccable care of this machine; it has always been garaged, never been down, not ridden in the rain nor abused in any way as the current photos clearly illustrate. He has maintained the bike with Honda-like precision with a very recent maintenance of an all fluids change service and a new battery, both done purely to keep the hydraulics, oil and electrical systems fresh and up to factory specs.  The Blackbird is essentially a factory stock bike with the exception of the handlebar risers that raise the bars about 1.5” higher. This subtle adjustment makes the riding geometry a bit more upright resulting in a more comfortable sport touring riding position. The risers can easily be removed if you want to revert back to the stock setup. A Battery Tender cable is also installed allowing the bike to be plugged in to a Battery Tender charger (charger not included). I was fortunate to spend a day riding this remarkable motorcycle; it was as if I became part of the machine as the bike is exquisitely sculpted to support the rider. The bike instills confidence by virtue of its precision, geometry and phenomenal acceleration and braking. Everything works so well… it is an absolute joy to carve graceful curves on twisty back roads and equally fun to eat up the pavement on the highway. The bike pulls like a Japanese bullet train with the dexterity of a prima ballerina… a rare marriage of abilities. This dohc, dual-counterbalanced, 1,137cc inline-four is electronically fuel injected (EFI) engine produces 152 hp. The engine is a stressed member in the twin-spar aluminum frame, which carries sport-tuned suspension and features a 58.7-inch wheelbase. Dry weight is 534 pounds. The “Super Blackbird” is one of the smoothest, most refined, and powerful motorcycles to ever hit the road. The XX was the world’s fastest production bike launched in the summer of 1996, reaching 178.5 mph. In normal riding, the bike is a stellar all-around performer. Handling is crisp, light, and sure, with beautiful steering quality. The riding position is sporty but comfortable, with the bar risers adding to the comfort on longer rides. The earlier suspension was stiffer but was made more supple in 1999–2003 models. Linked brakes were also improved in this post-’99 bike. The biggest upgrade was PGM-FI, which improved midrange power and fuel economy. Perhaps the best use of a CBR1100XX is as a sport-tourer, particularly in light of the 6.3-gallon fuel capacity of this later model, which grew from 5.8 gallons. What the Super Blackbird offers, though, is a much more “luxury GT” riding experience over some of the other more sport-oriented machines like the Kawasaki and Suzuki Hayabusa. As seen in the last few pictures, the bike comes with a Givi Micro 2 removable top box that includes the Givi E102 Backrest Pad, making for a more comfortable and secure passenger and traveling experience. The factory manual, extra keys and service history records will be included. Motorcycles of this caliber, in like-new condition and low mileage present a rare ownership opportunity.
