I am selling my Mercedes Benz 380 SL. This is the last year Mercedes made a 3.8L engine, before moving on to the larger and less fuel efficient 5.6L engine. The only reason this car is being sold, is because I am moving back to Canada. The car is in good condition overall, and comes with all available service records, the original manual for the car, two sets of keys, the original jack/tools, the original spare tire etc. Details: - Paint is in near perfect condition. Looks shiny and brand new. No rust anywhere (California car). - Seats are in near perfect condition. No tears, no scuffs, no marks. - Comes with both tops. As you can see in the pictures, the soft top is in near perfect condition, as is the hard top. The trolley for the hard top is also included. - Has been maintained well. New spark plugs/spark plug wires/dist cap, fuel pump, new fuel filter, new brakes, new starter motor, recently tuned, new front and rear sway bar. - Tires have approximately 85% tread. Upgraded Mercedes rims. - Transmission and engine work perfectly. No slipping, no issues. - Maintained by two Mercedes mechanics in Los Angeles for the majority of any work required. - Common problems have been addressed (The subframe is reinforced and gussets have been welded on by Mercedes. The car has a dual timing chain). - Included in the sale will be the key-less entry remote, as well as a sonar alarm (since it is a convertible, this is useful). Certain areas require attention: - There are a few interior scuffs and marks (mainly on the console, and some of the trim inside the car) - The rubber bushings in the control arm area will eventually need to be changed - The rubber trim around the windows on the soft top will eventually need to be changed - Very slight and occasional hesitation on idle, which mechanic says is due to a faulty spark plug wire (covered under warranty and free to replace). - The odometer stopped at 161 miles. It is now at approximately 163 miles. - The previous owner installed a sound system in the interior (doors, and rear bench). I have removed them, however I will include all the sound system components in the sale (amp, speaker wire, speakers etc.) If you have any questions or would like to see the car/inspect the car before the auction ends, please email me directly.
