Cold A/C! Please read the description fully and ensure that you can meet the obligations of this auction before bidding. This car is less than 20 years old and it has not been Maryland State Inspected, therefore it can only be sold to a non-Maryland resident. As is stated above, this is a NO RESERVE auction for a 2001 Toyota Celica GT. This car runs and drives well, and has the legendary reliability of a Toyota product. These are good-looking, practical cars, and this one would be great as a first car or daily commuter. Fuel economy is rated at 23mpg city / 31 mpg hwy, so it is easy on the wallet as well. This Celica has the 1.8L VVT 16V 4-cylinder engine. It runs well, it does not smoke or overheat, and the oil and coolant appear clean and normal. The transmission shifts normally through all of its gears, the brakes are strong, the suspension is firm, and the steering is precise. There is a loose heat shield on the exhaust that makes a vibration noise when you first start the car up. It is less audible at idle and during acceleration, and otherwise not noticeable during normal driving. The “check engine” light is on. Pep Boys pulled the code P0420 and said that it could be a bad O2 sensor or a bad catalytic converter. Other than that, the car runs great. The grey and black interior of this car is in great shape for its age. Each front seat has a small tear on its bottom, but they are still supportive and in overall good condition. The back seat is in good shape and appears unused. The carpets are clean, without any tears or fading. The dash and door panels do not have any cracks or sun damage. The A/C blows cold!! There is an aftermarket Pioneer stereo with a remote. It comes on, but is in some kind of “demo mode” that I can’t get it out of to play the radio. The power mirrors, power windows, power sunroof, and cruise control all work, as well as all of the dash gauges. This car has driver and passenger airbags for safety. There are power locks, but there is a problem with the switch. It is only working on the trunk and occasionally the passenger’s door. While driving down the road I can sometimes hear the locks clicking, so I think that there is a problem with either the switch or a relay. It does not unlock the doors when the car is sitting, it only seems to do it when the key is on in the ignition. On the exterior of the car, the silver paint itself is in good condition, but there are a few defects. There is the odd scratch here or there. There is a dent on the left front fender, a dent behind the driver’s door that has surface rust on it, a scrape on the left rear bumper, and a dent / scrape on the right rear wheel arch. The fuel door is also missing. The car still looks very good, and the body is solid. This car has the alloy wheels. The front tires have some tread. The rear tires are shot and need to be replaced as soon as possible. They are bald and cause road noise and vibrations above 60mph. Overall, I would say that this car is in above average condition. Mechanically it is sound, and the interior is in great shape, but the exterior is in need of some attention. These are great cars. They are Toyota tough, they look good, and they get great gas mileage. I welcome bidders to come see / drive the car in person and form your own opinion, just please contact me at least 24 hours beforehand so that I can adjust my schedule to be able to meet you. I am selling this car on behalf of my father because he does not use the internet. This car is owned by his small, used car dealership.
