Up for the auction the ultimate barn find- a 1976 Porsche turbo Carrera. One of 530 930's built for the US market in 1976, the first year the 930 was imported into US. Of all the US 930's the 76's are the most collectable and valuable cars. The 930 was built to homologate a turbo charged 911 for group 4 racing. Car # 104 was involved in a front end collision- some repairs were made (parts and labor around $4k) and car was mothballed as a future race car/hot rod project. That project never came to fruition and now car is available for restoration or project as you choose to build. It is obvious from pictures that this is a major project - one that will require considerable skill and financial commitment. The prices of the 76's have sky rocketed to the point of where it is now makes financial sense to restore this car. If you don't have the wallet and intestinal fortitude to take on a project of this scope write someone a $200k check for a decent driver and be done with it. Some notable items missing- first and foremost is numbers matching engine case, I am still searching for this- it has to be out there somewhere. Also needed are front valance, spoiler and headlamp washers and cams. Car comes with motor disassembled in boxes, matching #'s short bell housing tranny, brakes, full suspension, Interior, rear spoiler, refinished date matching fuchs wheels, most lights etc. I'd love to restore this myself but I am current restoring #0094, one of these at a time is enough for me. Car will be sold on "roller" wheels and original fuchs not fuchs in pictures.
